“I really wanted to like this place. It looks so good online and after a full day at the Garden City water park (which is really great, by the way), my family and I were real hungry. The good: Creative menu. Clean place. The bad: Order at the counter (which sucks, because the menu requires time to read with so many unique offerings), and pickup at the counter. And even though it's counter service, the credit card machine tries to get full service tips (22%, or more). The place is a shameless money grab. They charge for a cup of water. I got the $11 Kansas Burger (see pic) which is supposed to come with "onion rings" but they served me Durkee fried onion crumbs from a can (the stuff on green bean casserole at Thanksgiving). Pinky's is the first restaurant I've seen that serves burgers but doesn't have fries (suggestion to management: get an air fryer and some frozen fries. And get some frozen onion rings, while you're at it). The ambiance: It's loud, real loud with nothing to absorb the sound. Everyone yells at their tablemates and like a vicious cycle, the volume escalates. And it's not comfortable with hard seats from a typical fast-food restaurant (but this place charges upscale restaurant prices). Bottom line: The potential is there, but as of July 2022, it is falling short.”

“The food was very good and came out hot as it should. The waiters certainly seemed new however they were also very busy when we ate there and appeared to have limited staff so I won't take another star away considering they just reopened here in Garden city and being that they were all nice and efficient. It's great that they are now in town instead of out at the airport so they have a better chance for business. The interior is nice, the seating was comfortable (booth seat) although the tables were oddly higher/taller than normal. They're on the pricey side but the portions you receive are good. Just be sure that when they bring you the rolls that you request the olive oil mix they make for dipping, otherwise the rolls don't have much flavor to them alone. All in all we will come here again in the future.”

“Hostess/server was very pleasant. Immediate seating available mid-afternoon. We had chicken taco salad. The chicken was nicely spicy, lettuce finely chopped, cold, and fresh. Other toppings also fresh and tasty. The flour shell was okay but thicker than lighter ones that we prefer. Ordered frozen margarita but it was served over ice, and a little too sweet for my taste. Overall good experience.”

“I have been to this old Chicago three times now. Even on their busiest day my family and I are treated nicely. The food is very good. This last time I went, my fiancé ordered the beer burger (his favorite). I ordered the Tuscan chicken with spinach pizza. We had bruschetta as a starter. In the past, I have had ma’s lasagna for dinner and the Sicilian pepperoni rolls as an appetizer, both also very good.”

“I ordered at the drive through, and while my order was made accurately it was very slow. I was the only car there, so it’s not like it was busy. This location is brand new, within a gas station (next to a Cinnabon) so maybe they’re still getting staff trained. Food was good, exactly what you’d expect at a Taco John’s.”

Our waiter was an older gentleman named Tim, and I promise you, ask for him if you visit. Great man with customers first in mind! “The food really is top-notch here, especially when the sushi options of western Kansas are a touch limited. Went in here with my wife and my 2 younger kids for dinner. So my last visit and review told of feeling ignored, as our service was slower than others arriving after us. Today was even worse. The lady seating people tried to seat the group in line behind us before us. When both groups voiced our displeasure, she ignored us and did anyway. By the time our food arrived, almost all the groups that been behind us in line had been served, eaten, and left, and the line was about 30 minutes long. This is becoming a problem, as this is the second visit in a row that this has happened. I had previously rated as 4 star, but now the excellent food isn't enough to offset the poor service, so I'm taking a star off.”

The shrimp was soggy. Not helpful, kids eating in prep area. No acknowledgment, the 2nd time this has happened. Corporate needs to get involved. The store can't be profitable. Shrink must be through the roof. ************************************************************ Update: I decided to try again, and a young man named Daniel helped me. Daniel's customer service skills were 10 fold better than that of the other employees working in the past. He was friendly, the food was fresh and he said THANK YOU and it was genuine. Keep this kid and give him a raise!!! The overall morale of the associates and energy inside was positive and happy.”
