“This place doesn't deserve five stars.... THEY DESERVE AN INFINITE AMOUNT OF STARS! As a trucker, I've been to many, and I mean many little "hole-in-the-wall" shops across this county. Nothing pales in comparison to Brandin' Iron! The inside of this place just makes you feel as if you're in the old midwest. Service was beyond great! And the food.... I can't even describe how good, how delicious, how amazing it was! Well, I could, but Google might take down my review. 😆 I will definitely be back here again!!!”

“Wonderful breakfast/brunch stop during our Saturday drive. Everything is homemade, breakfast buffet was great and reasonably priced, and service was friendly. Cinnamon rolls are made from scratch and are probably the best I've ever had. They also makes pies, baked goods, and cheese. (If you can't make it to Durham, they sell their tasty goods at the farmers market in Abilene during the summer).”

“It was really good. Very good flavors. Some of the best fajitas my husband has ever had. You could tell they are very short staffed so we really didn’t have much service but the food came out very quickly. Only Mexican restaurant we’ve been to that didn’t have real margaritas. Very disappointing. We had been traveling all day and were looking forward to a great margarita.”

“Lovely prairie gem. Cocktails/wine menu, had grilled swordfish....over done by a couple of minutes. The "salsa" on top was just chopped items and should be eliminated. As local purveyor/seasonal ingredients a corn, summer/winter squash/apple item would have been a welcome authentic addition to the sides, or swordfish topping. LOVE, the carrot cake....phenomenal, gorgeous and mouth party. I will return over and over.”

“Gorgeous historic hotel that has been lovingly restored and maintained. Each room is unique and attention to detail and decor is evident as you tour the hotel. I LOVE that unoccupied rooms are left open so you can tour them! Common areas in each floor such as kitchen, dining, library, ballroom and even a game room (just feet from main hotel) make guest comfort that much more accessible. There is a lovely bar/restaurant on site. We dis not have dinner but the included breakfast was fantastic! We had cocktails in the bar that were well prepared and the bar/restaurant staff were amazing! In fact, ALL the staff here are amazing! The Elgin truly cares that you have a comfortable and quality stay. This was our first visit to Marion, KS and the Elgin and we are already planning for a return visit soon. You will not regret staying at the beautiful historic hotel!”

“This has got to be the weirdest layout and set of decor I have ever seen in a chain restaurant. And I will say the kitchen looked a little dirty. But the food was classic Gambino's, solid pizza, made and served quickly. The man who took and prepared my order remembered to provide a to-go box without having to ask again. Would recommend as a blend of "just what you expected" of the chain and "quirky, novel atmosphere".”

“We absolutely love coming to That One Place. The food is so good. It’s big city taste in a small community which is such a treat to have here. We never leave hungry as the food is just the right portions and the nachos could feed a small army! The atmosphere is welcoming and very inviting. They are so accommodating to everyone, especially those who have very particular ways they want their order. Their prices are very competitive, the food is outstanding and they keep their mouth watering staples on the menu, but surprise us occasionally with chicken fried steak dinners or yummy beefsteak and chicken sandwiches. It’s pleasantly different than other eating establishments nearby which makes it a great dining destination. Josh and Allison have done a terrific job keeping our tastebuds satisfied and we feel blessed to have them in our little town!”

“Great little cafe! Got the special; roast beef with mashed potatoes, gravy, peas, salad & a roll. Even included a piece of cake for dessert & all for only $8.75. Everything was delicious and tasted like good down home comfort food. Also had several pies to choose from for dessert. Waitress was polite and helpful. Definitely recommend if you’re passing through or even just as a short day trip get away from Wichita for a couple hours.”

“A Hidden Gem!! If you are making any sort of sojourn through the Flint hills, this place is a welcome respite. My bride and I stopped in for an early lunch. We had two of the finest sandwiches we've ever had. Generous portions of delicious meats served on fresh baked bread with crisp, delicious veggies, and a nice pasta salad, all served with the friendliness that only small-town Kansas seems able to summon. Hence, to travel through Florence means a stop here for lunch. Some nice historic places are in the vicinity, and there's a watering hole down the street for us to check out on our next trip.”

“This is a hidden place, in an old building, but nicely decorated with some old concert posters & such. The food is outstanding. I ordered off the Special board, which had not been changed yet. The owner made it for me anyway!!!! My first bite of salsa told me I was someplace special. It was home-made & FRESH. At that point the owner told me that they try to do everything home-made. The food we had was delicious.”

This place is slow paced so I wouldn't recommend if on a time crunch this is more of a take your time and enjoy life place! So very worth it though!”
