Everything we tried was excellent. We were there for a leisurely lunch on a Monday. The queso was good but without chunks and not too spicy. The four year old loved it. The pork and coleslaw tacos were excellent and more complex then they sounded. The steak street tacos had a lovely char and cheese on them. The Hawaiian nachos took two people to eat them but they were gone. The house Margarita and Paloma were lovely. Everyone adored the ginger beer.
I’ve been here several times now and it’s a great experience every time. I’m partial to the Oak Street location because the steak in the big bowl just hits different there. The servers are also great every time I’ve gone. I’ve gotten bitty quite a few times and she’s great and is very helpful with any questions I or my friends had as well as funny and personable with her guests. Love this place and looking forward to my next visit
We walked here from the trolly and it wasn't far. . The place was small but cozy.
Our waitress was very pleasant and patient as we didn't really know what we wanted, and she was very friendly.
The food here is Mexican meets creole. So the Spanish rice had some creole seasoning and same with the chicken in the enchiladas. But real tasty.
I got a Mango mojito, it was good but had too much mint leaves, I could barely suck up drink from the straw.
We also had the chicken enchiladas and they were delicious. Also some street tacos, my son had two carnitas and some chicken kind, with red sauce, and it came with Cojita cheese. The were not good. I like the carnitas better. When I visit again I will try something else.
We loved coming here when they were at their old location and followed them here. Nice drinks, a large variety of food (including veggie/vegan options) and a decent happy hour. This new location seems smaller and can fill up, so there might be a wait during peak times.
Everything was plated beautifully and was absolutely delicious. I had the Jerk Shrimp and Mango Salad. I'm honestly getting hungry just thinking about it again. The flavors were very balanced and had a lot of depth. If everyone at my table wasn't insisting their food was the best item on the menu I probably would order that every time I go back. We also got the salsa and guacamole which were both extremely fresh and flavorful. I normally don't like mild salsa but I would order this again.
I had a lime margarita and a jalapeño one. Neither was anything special.
The atmosphere was very chill and would be perfect for really anything, friends, family, ect.
The only reason they aren't getting 5 stars is our server was not great. I was at the uptown location which is fairly new so I have high hopes that aspect will improve as they gain experience.
