“We decided to come in for our first time to see what this place was about, and sadly, it was not that great. The person who initially took our order was rude, disrespectful, and did not explain the process of the preparation like she did for those before and after us. She looked angry, and it seemed like she didn't want to service us. We even asked multiple times to split the check, and she either ignored us or didn't want to, so she kept rubbing us the wrong way. Next up, the selection of dressings was very minimal and disappointing. The menu did offer a variety of different sandwiches, which is good. The pricing was decent for the food ordered, and the atmosphere was clean, but not upbeat, as all the employees seemed aggravated and didn't want to be there. The food tasted great, which is the sole reason for the higher score. Otherwise, it would have been a two star rating. I don't know what each of those employees there are going through, so I won't bash on them, I always say there aren't bad employees, just bad leadership. To the managers, I say lead your employees better and groom them for success. Wrapping up now, I'm not sure if we will be returning anytime soon, sadly. I say food-wise, I recommend them, service-wise, I don't, so please do better.”

“It's hard to find the words for The Green Door at H Mercantile. The decor is so attractive, the seating areas are very cozy, but the whole place is so spacious! My Iced Mocha Latte was amazing! “This afternoon I stopped in their drive thru. The attending employee was so prompt and polite. While I was waiting on my food I saw/heard what I assume was their manager on the phone with a customer. I have no clue what the customer was upset about, but I did hear the manager handling the situation with respect while still maintaining professional boundaries. It was so good to see (not that I would want any service worker to be abused). The manager was so respectful and you could tell he genuinely wanted to make the situation right. Then, when the attending employee came back with my pizza, they asked if I needed anything else. Right as I was about to drive off, they NOTICED me talking to my kid in the back seat. They stopped me and asked if I wanted some cookies. I was surprised but I said sure (I didn’t even know they had these). They brought the exact number of cookie packs I needed and said “I didn’t notice the kid before.” Like, how sweet and thoughtful. I was so pleasantly surprised. Y’all are doing it right over there guys, for real. Plus, the pizza was SO good and made perfectly. 10/10 recommend.”

“I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by the food the salad was truly amazing along with the garlic bread some of the best garlic bread ever it actually look like a personal size pizza without the sauce but the taste was very garlicky phenomenal my favorite. I have to say the location is quite dingy it could certainly use a good scrub, not the type of place I typically dine in, but I decided to step outside of my comfort zone and be open-minded. I would certainly go back there. I ate there twice in the two days that I was there, so that says a lot. It was really hard to get delivery thankfully their hotel was right across the street so we were able to walk twice one of those times was in the pouring thunderstorm that happened to be going on but it was so worth it. If you're in New Orleans, make sure you make it to the original Italian pie. The customer service was superb, very friendly, and welcoming it was almost like being around family.
