I’m never disappointed on any of their recommendations or simply buying a bottle of wine “blind.” They also have a very unique retail selection that make for the perfect host gift or simply to add to your kitchen pantry or wine cellar! They also recently hosted our rehearsal “tea.” They took our vision and went above and beyond with the menu placement settings and presentation. “My coworker and I just ordered from here for the first time. We got catfish, green beans, succotash, chicken tenders, fries and baked beans as well as banana pudding. The portions were big. We will be eating the rest tomorrow. Everything was GREAT! It was freshly cooked and did't taste like it was frozen or microwaved. I will recommend this restaurant and we will be eating here again.”

“Stopped in while visiting from Delaware. They have a nice location and a quaint setup inside. The staff was very friendly. I really wanted to like this place but the food just wasn't great. We had the prime rib, the blackened fish, fried pickles, and a cocktail. Nothing was cooked poorly, there just wasn't much flavor to anything. Even the sides were relatively tasteless. The one exception was the pickles which were excellent. Maybe it was just an off night. Hopefully that's the case, because it seems like it should be a great little hometown restaurant.”

“Great spot for coffee and a quick bite to eat. The breakfast sandwiches are made eggs your way with breakfast meat of choice on delicious fluffy biscuits. Delicious!! My wife enjoyed the fresh açaí bowl and my kids enjoyed the smoothies. Pro tip: if you have small kiddies, split a large smoothie into 2. They’re tasty and if one doesn’t finish, they didn’t waste a whole. 😀”

“We had a family of 13 on a Friday night and walked in not knowing what to expect. We were renting a vacation home and traveled from Pittsburgh, PA. Immediately, the staff connected tables so we could sit together. The waitstaff were so friendly and caring, our waitress even took several group pictures of us. The service was excellent and the food was superb! We never expected such wonderful food from a local small-town diner. We were extremely happy with our service and the patience in which the staff expressed when catering to a large group. The food was so unbelieveable that I just had to compliment the Island Grille. I met the owner and she was so kind and easy to talk to. If you are in the area, you will be glad you stopped at the Island Grille!!!”

“Looking for something different on the Island between Hooper's & Taylor's, this is it. We love the atmosphere, nice, clean and friendly. They are still working out some glitches but that's ok. We had an amazing server, who kept us laughing. The owner was very present making sure we had everything we needed, plus he makes really good cheesecake. Steak & Prime Rib was perfectly cooked to our liking, along with our sides. If you are looking for items off of the Old Salty menu this is where you will find it. Can't wait to go back. Boat's & Hose definitely has a ring to it!! Great place for sure.”

“Hands down the most authentic mexican food I've had on the eastern shore. No mexi-american combo platters stuff, just fresh, legit mexican cuisine. Went there for the first time today and got tacos lengua and tacos barbacoa. First bite took me straight back to my time living on the coast of Guerrero. Incredibly friendly staff and I'm already looking forward to going back to try their other menu options like their sopas or even their breakfast. Please do give this place a try. Its the kind of small business that deserves every bit of attention.”
