“We held our son's rehearsal dinner at Zing a few weeks ago and we cannot say enough good things about the restaurant. First of all, Scott was very professional and helpful during the planning, but most importantly all the guests had a fantastic time and raved about the food and experience. There were nearly 60 of us in the party, and everything went very smoothly. We were so happy at how easy Scott made it- he handled every detail and took such good care of us. “Despite being listed as "kid friendly" on Yelp, it most definitely is not. There are multiple signs throughout the restaurant that the yard (where the games are at) are for 21+. Not a big deal to cater to adults, but we went specifically because it was listed as kid friendly. Hopefully others won't make the same mistake.”

“First off this is more of a grab n go than a sit down bbq place. It's located inside the Green Lake One Stop Gas Station with an ordering window on the outside. They have a limited menu and close when they sell out. I over ordered due to curiosity. I ordered a pulled pork sandwiches with smoked beans and mac n cheese. Then I ordered 3 rib bones with the same sides. Lastly I ordered the special of the day which was a smoked sloppy joe. I need to start with everything was good, well above average. The thing is nothing would fall into my Top 3. The pulled pork was best it was perfectly cooked and very tender, it may very well fall into my 4th favorite in the Grand Rapids area. The ribs were good. Great char and smoke ring, with a good spice. Tender. However for some reason I like them, I just don't love them. The smoked sloppy joes were good, just nothing special. I liked the beans they may have been my 2nd favorite item. The mac n cheese was my least favorite, however I am extremely picky about mac n cheese. The finger lickin sauce was very ehhh and very thin. A better sauce might help. The meat was all well cooked and tender. So bravo to smokemaster. The service was good and very friendly. Overall a I'd give them 3.9 stars. Lol so we'll say 4. Would I return? If I was in the area then absolutely.”

That restroom looked like a scaled up in size high end hotel bathroom. And there was an attendant in there cleaning it in the middle of the day! Spotless. Tile, stone, solid doors and stall walks. Highly recommend. Your mom, wife, daughter, sister, whomever, will definitely thank you.”

“Christine, because I read your review, I went to Baldy's. Good BBQ is not supposed to fall apart. Nor is it supposed to fall off the bone any more than steak is supposed to fall off the bone. So because of your review I went to Baldy's. Thanks for the heads up. It was incredible! The brisket was unlike any I've ever had. Even my 20-something daughter looked at me and said, "this is way beyond anything I've ever tasted." (We found out they're using PRIME brisket.) The ribs were incredible. They did not fall off the bone. Nope, that's chain restaurant "boiled in a bag" stuff. Baldy's ribs tasted like something out of a national competition. Perfect smoke ring. Perfect texture. Wonderful taste, especially if you're a rib lover. I generally don't even like ribs. But these were nuts. The baked beans were WOW! Crazy good. And the cheesy potatoes excellent, although I agree with Christine, they could have been a little warmer. Personally, I liked Baldy's BBQ sauces, especially the cherry one, although I understand that's kind of a personal taste thing with everyone. Each to his/her own. The only problem with Baldy's is that I'm not near enough to enjoy it very often. So I find myself comparing my old BBQ place to Baldy's. But there is no comparison. So be careful. Once you try Baldy's it's hard to go back and like your old BBQ place anymore.”

“Let me tell you about this tiny ice cream shack. It has the best gelato I have had in the States. Don't look left, don't look right, just grab the pint of White Chocolate Raspberry Gelato and you will never be the same again. It is so creamy and delicious. Every inch there is a new layer of fresh frozen raspberries and big white chocolate chunks. They also do frozen waffle cones which are travel/beach friendly!”

“Huge portions for a reasonable price. Had to wait for the food coma to pass before I could write this review. We had the lake perch and it was excellent. The fried mushrooms were good as well as was the portion size. Mushrooms are massive and the breading is quite good. Service was excellent given how busy they were. Very good experience. The place is cozy just 4 tables so probably not a place to try to eat in with a large group at least in the winter. Not sure if there will be picnic tables outside in the summer or not. If not neither the state or county parks are that far.”
