“I'm in love with this place and its delicious food! My mom lives near their Birmingham location, and I try hard to eat a meal there whenever I visit her. I've never ordered anything that's less than awesome! The flavors pop and blend beautifully, the staff treats us well, the portions are generous, and I sure wish there was a location closer to home (outside of metro Detroit). I've ordered a large bowl every time but chosen different sides and proteins according to my mood, and right now I'm craving their flavors and quality and wishing I could drop everything and drive an hour to place an order. My elderly mom is a fan, too; she loves the lentil soup and pita chips. My sister and her kids are also fans, and I look forward to taking my husband there when our schedules allow it. “Really have not at all been disappointed by the food beyond the prices. Then the chicken wings are a bit bland, or even seemingly undercooked. Beyond that, every burger I've had there has met every expectation. Staff is 4/5 great! Really like how the kitchen is open late. I just wish everything wasn't so pricey for what it is and how little you get for it. I don't want to pay almost $40 for a few sliders, a side and a beer. That's really excessive and is eventually going to turn me away for good.”

“Cafe Succo... Coffee was okay. Not bad but okay. When I buy coffee out, I want it to be the best, not okay. When I asked if they had a dark roast (strong) coffee they said that their customers say it's not strong. They offered to add a shot of espresso at an additional charge to make it strong. Instead I got a cappuccino, it was okay. I want great. Staff was polite but never even bothered to ask if my cap was good or if it gave me the bolt I was looking for. Nothing. I expect better for Birmingham and the price. I'll go back next year and see if thay have improved.”

Other part of the group's food looked okay but that's it, just okay. Can't judge by one visit which to me states there's hope. Very original theme and is decorated in kind. Kind of had a look of garage sale decorations but then went completely in other direction with more appropriate crisp, clean decor. Felt like the whole experience was neither here nor there. It's historical value was interesting and old Kresge I believe. The drinks have potential, the atmosphere good the food won't be going back for.”

“We came here for our birthday dinner and shared the 20oz bone in ribeye and it was very good. The seasoning was nice, thicker cuts of peppercorn added a nice flavor. The calamari appetizer was also very delicious. I really enjoyed how they didn't overcook the calamari, so it was still tender and not rubbery at all. However, they doused it in a little too much sauce because it was a bit soggy instead of crisp. We also ordered the pork belly appetizer, the cheesy grits were to die for, but the pork belly itself was a tad disappointing. The pork belly was overcooked and very tough, when I imagine pork belly I imagine something crisp on the outside and melt in your mouth on the inside. The box of chocolate truffles in the end had a good flavor and pleasant mouth feel. I'd come here again but probably just go straight for the steak next time.”

“If you want thin crust pizza and you are not in Detroit, this is the place to be. You will not be disappointed, though to be fair, it is better to eat in rather than take out. The pizza slices are generous sizes and there is a great ratio of cheese, sauce, and topping on top of the crust that is not too thin nor too thick. Being from NY I have to be a bit tougher on this place and I give it higher marks for its creativity. In fact it's usually those pizzas I would order over the classical/traditional ones. Definitely a fun place to bring friends/family for a quick lunch/snack.”

“I came here by Google Maps suggestions and was amazed. Great service! Awesome food! Great ambiance. Waiter was very helpful deciding the food and wine. There is nothing negative I can think of. This place is now one my favorite Italian restaurant in Detroit area. EDIT: Went again to try some other items from their Menu. Food was as good as I was expecting but would not visit again. I got my reservation at 10 PM (Lady on call said they are all booked before 10). I called them at 8 PM to do it earlier if possible. They said it's all booked. We went at 9.30 to try our luck and saw 3-4 tables were empty. Also multiple times we felt like our server was racist.”
