“Stopped for pie after a refreshing swim in the Temperance River. Because the swim stirred our appetite we also had some appetizers. The Walleye Cakes are very good. I definitely would have those again. The onion rings are presented nicely. Of the three pies we had the peach cherry crumble was the favorite. It seemed to hit the best balance of tart fruit and sweetness. Service was good.”

“On the first morning of our four night stay right now. We have come here a number of times, I'm sure we'll be back. The price is right, especially in the winter and for allowing pets. They are very pet friendly. The location is great (we're in a third floor annex suite, looking out over a natural area and pine trees to Lake Superior, and just on the North side of Two Harbors). State parks and Duluth not far away. We can get affordable suites so us parents have a private bedroom, with a Jacuzzi tub and separate door to the shared bathroom. Double sided fireplace, and in this room you can't see through it so we can use the tub in private. A complete kitchen, so we can stay in and have a home cooked (affordable) meal if we want, but there are a number of good restaurants nearby. Our favorite is a little drive up the road to the Rustic Inn. They recently had minor flooding, I think on 12/30/2019, in the main Lodge. This happened while we were staying here last year in April too. They need to fix that but seem to be doing a good job recovering. It seems there has been some deferred maintenance of some things in the hotel: there are some sharp broken tiles on the floor in our suite, some minor carpet issues. Not major items but things I'd like to see fixed in the future. I know we'll be back.”

“We stopped in to McQuade's quite by accident: we had planned to eat at a different restaurant that evening, but it didn't work out. So we went to McQuade's because it was nearby. And what a happy accident! McQuade's has the best food we have EVER eaten. We could hardly believe it, so we returned the following night and ordered all different food (and lots of it)--and it was all still the best food we've ever eaten! I cannot recommend this place enough! If you are in Two Harbors, or plan to be anywhere near it, do yourself a favor and stop into McQuade's. Just a heads up, though...depending on when you get there, you might have to wait a bit, and sometimes it takes a while to get your food. But man, is it worth the wait!”

Waitress was very detail oriented but friendly. We enjoyed our visit. Quiet with low customers but lots of carryout for a Friday night.”

“Our group of 7 stopped with only an hour till closing and we were treated as honored guests. The service was excellent with no indication that we were imposing. Our waiter was welcoming, polite, and attentive without hovering. Our requests were filled completely. Everyone enjoyed the food with some minor exceptions. Personally I found the steak to be delicious and exactly as I ordered it. This goes on the list of places I will visit again. Few places are perfect and there was room for improvement but overall it was a satisfying experience.”

“This place is incredible!! We came in after spending a day at Gooseberry Falls and Split Rock Lighthouse. Allie was a gem and let my husband know, that since he was a veteran, his meal would be free. Allow me to say, I would have gladly paid for this meal, two times over. Yes, it was THAT good! We had the walleye cakes (OMG), I had one of their famous oven baked omelettes (The Popeye) and my husband had the North Woods Classic breakfast. Honestly, I can’t say enough good things about this meal, the atmosphere and the service. Oh, and make sure to try the apple cider! Did I mention Allie was awesome?!?! Great discovery and will definitely be back whenever we come back to the Duluth area.”

“My boyfriend and I stopped in a few weeks ago for coffee. I had a hot vanilla latte and he had an iced one. They were both AMAZING. After we left we agreed that it was the best coffee we have ever had, no joke. We spent the day at Gooseberry Falls and on our way home we grabbed 2 more iced lattes togo. We will definitely be back whenever we are in the area!”

“Went for our anniversary dinner and were not disappointed. The appetizers were very good - we got the walleye cakes, which were delicious and the cheese curds (which were a little oily but very good). We both got the filet mignon, and were good cuts and cooked perfectly. We brought our own bottle of wine, and the corkage fee is $15. Also, they have multiple EV chargers on the property which is a nice bonus for EV drivers.”
