“A great experience for our Scout troop's trip to the BWCA. Lori and Carl were fantastic to work with, especially since our trip was COVID-delayed by a year. Meals at the outfitters were satisfying, especially the pancake and bacon breakfasts. The price for our package was extremely reasonable. Bunkhouse accommodations were simple but well-suited to a Scout group. The outfitting package worked well for our 5-night trip. Food supplied with our package was more than ample. They were friendly and helpful throughout our trip-planning phase, especially regarding route planning. Pickup from our exit point was exactly as scheduled. Highly recommend Canadian Border Outfitters for your BWCA visit!”

“Three of us went on a Sunday and sat in the restaurant area (not the bar). Our server was nice, maybe new or inexperienced, but we weren’t in a hurry. They had an End of Summer menu which was very limited, burger or walleye, so we all got burgers. Really good burger, charbroiled and cooked medium the way we like it (even though we weren’t asked) but the only issue was the bun. Too thin so it fell apart almost immediately. Came with kettle chips. Overall good meal. Drinks were good.”

“We had to travel miles and miles on gravel roads to get here, but it was totally worth it. Such a great atmosphere. The place was packed on a Saturday night and had such a good vibe - warm, cozy, and very local. The food was decent. Beer cheese soup was lukewarm, but had good flavor. Typical bar fare. Definitely worth the trip if you’re looking for an authentic, less touristy dinner.”

“We were grateful that the place was open after 6pm as there are not many choices available. The restaurant was nice, very dated and in need of repair as the cedar shakes had a musty smell to them. The service was lacking, we sat for quite a while waiting for a server, when we finally got one, he was very responsive and friendly. Prices were reasonable and the food was really good.”

“Had no idea that it was a food truck, guess I didn't do my research. I had the sausage, pork belly burnt ends and the cauliflower. My wife had the Lexington sandwich with pulled pork and coleslaw. My wife loved the sandwich and I really enjoyed the sausage. The pork belly burnt ends were a bit fatty and had the feel that they were scraped out of the bottom of the pot. The smoked cauliflower was tasty and overall it was very tasty. Not a fan of food trucks though and eating in the car, taking it home or finding a spot at the two picnic tables with flies buzzing around you. Like I said, I should've done better research, my bad. Worth trying though and not too expensive. P.S.: get here early, by 530pm almost all sides were out and just after 6pm they closed shop.”

“My husband and I stayed in a lake home suite. Our view was amazing. It was clean. The jacuzzi tub in our room was a plus since the one by the pool is only a 7-8 person max. Those are the pluses. The minuses are our shower was a trickle. The bathroom faucet had more water pressure. And I wouldn't recommend staying on a bottom level. The people who were upstairs from us were so loud. There was 6 of them. We swore they were playing basketball or moving furniture NONSTOP. We came to relax and that didn't happen unless we were walking along the shore line. The grill was good. Our 1st night we had great service. Second night not so much. Our server seemed to forget that we were there. Overall it's a nice place, but for the price we payed and the experience we were hoping for but didn't get, I don't think we'd stay here again.”

She made sure our drinks were always topped off and checked in on us as we were enjoying our meal. Her ability to balance four dishes at a time while serving was a sight to behold, and our food, along with everyone else's, was served pretty fast. The food at Judy's Cafe was equally commendable. I indulged in the Mile High Omelet and Hashbrowns with Cheese and Onions, and it was delicious. My husband enjoyed the Denver Omelet, and he was equally satisfied with his choice. The ambiance of the place added to the charm, with cute decor that made the dining experience all the more enjoyable. I'm thrilled with my experience at Judy's Cafe and highly recommend it to anyone looking for great food, exceptional service, and a speedy dining experience. I tried the Northern Dillight sandwich, and my husband had the Knife River Roast. Both were delicious and served with crispy kettle fries and a tangy dill pickle on the side. We enjoyed our food as takeout, and the process was incredibly smooth. I called ahead, and our order was ready in just 15-20 minutes. One thing to note is that their website can be a bit glitchy. Clicking on an item on the menu takes you to the top of the webpage, which can be a little frustrating. Even though we didn't dine in, the quality of the food and the efficiency of the service left a positive impression. If you find yourself in Two Harbors and are looking for a quick and satisfying lunch, I would recommend giving Madeira Bistro a try. Their attention to detail and commitment to quality is evident, and we'll likely return if we're in the area again.”

“Went on a Duluth snowmobile trip and found this place. We had lunch here and had a very good waiter named Dee. (Burger was awesome btw) Our sleds broke down and we ended up coming back to our place and having a few drinks. Once again we got to know Dee. Dee was welcoming and was an awesome dude to hang around. You could tell all the locals liked him I would recommend giving this man a raise, As we will be retuning customers next winter due to our experience . Thanks Dee!”

“Very, very nice. The remodeled restaurant is beautiful, with a 40 foot fireplace and beautiful views of Lake Superior. The updated menu was amazing, as is the wine list. I had the Wagyu filet and it was done perfectly. It is a great place to take someone for a special occasion or if you are craving a really good dinner. We will be returning soon to try more on the menu. It is a great addition to the North Shore and a nice drive from Duluth. Highly recommended!”
