“I sat down and was served immediately. The bar was already pretty full. The atmosphere is warm and friendly. The bar is a well worn oak and has farmhouse style lights. I ordered a Sam Adams Octoberfest and actually I could tell it was an older keg. I ordered the sausage tips. They came almost immediately and were delicious, hot and spicy. After the Sam Adams Octoberfest, I switched to a Blue Moon and that keg was better.”

The beef brisket sandwich as well as the Reuben, and patty melt were all crowd pleasers, as was the Walleye dinner. We all liked the baked potato, which was done just right. The 100+ year old building was warm and welcoming, and had a great atmosphere . If you are a party of two, ask for a spot in the glassed-in porch for a great view of Grand Marais harbor.”

“Found this nice place as we were passing thru Alexandria on a motorcycle ride from a couple locals at a gas station. Loved the atmosphere of this bar and grill loved the outdoor seating even a patio on top. Our server was so nice and friendly I wish I got her name but what really got me was the food! Can I say OMG it was more then bar food it was amazingly a foodies delight. Everything from the drinks and the food was seasoned to perfection I had the flat iron steak [cooked just right) a very nice dinner salad, hashbrowns and a piece of garlic toast. The husband had a walleye sandwich on a hoagie bun the tarter was a remoulade which was so good all I have to say the four cooks that were on this night you rocked simple affair great job, great food, a beer/cocktail what more can you ask for!”

The Pub is the kitchen where everyone hangs out, there’s a basement bar called the Keller where all the stoners go and they have a bunch of side rooms to check out but no one hangs out in.
