“The veggies here are well seasoned and the cornbread is exactly like I like it, a tad bit sweet. I liked it even better when a drink was included with the blueplate but the tea is mighty good. Now the tea is SWEET so you will want to mix the sweet and unsweet unless you really like it sweet. I’ve eaten a plate lunch several times and the lunches have always been pretty good. I’ve also bought whole glazed honey hams and smoked briskets and they are amazing.”

“This little place is easy to miss in your commute through here, but try to drop by and get a good plate lunch. The catfish isn't gourmet or anything, but it's flaky and delicious. There's also good hamburger steak, meatloaf, and a few other dishes, with a good selection of sides (carrots, beans, greens, etc.). Price is a little more than one would expect, but this is the best place on this side of the Reservoir to get some country cooking that I've found. It's worthy of a visit on payday, if not more often, as your budget permits.”

“5 stars hands. It was our first time here and all employees were courteous and nice and spot on! We ordered at the counter and before I was able to sit at a table my coffee was there. Like, hell yeah dude. The food was out maybe 5 minutes later and was delicious. It tasted like everything was made from scratch and even my 18 month old ate his meal (which is impressive since he doesn't eat most of what we make him at home). Very pleased. Will be back in no time to try out breakfast!”

“Ive spent enough time in Michigan to equate the term "coney" with what the rest of the country would call a chili dog. I went in hoping for something tubular covered in chili and if I was lucky some cheese as well. Well, Coney Island Cafe did not have chili dogs. What I was greeted with when entering was a real honest to goodness greasy spoon. The type my grandfather would take me to for lunch when I was a child 40+ years ago. Of course I sat at the counter. As I stated above, no chili dogs were to be had but they did have hot dogs, burgers, bbq sandwiches, and fried chicken. The prices were great. I got a cheeseburger that was plenty fine. It rivaled what you could make at home. I noticed plate after plate of fried chicken kept coming by so I'm guessing their fried chicken is the thing to get. I'll be back to try the fried chicken because this place ticks all the right buttons. Good food, good prices, and though it isn't exactly like the burger joint my grandpa would take me to, it's close enough to it in spirit that it ticks the nostalgia button as well just get there for lunch because they close at 2 in the afternoon.”

“I remember going to the first one in Kansas City as a child. They created the fast food industry with great tasting burger's and fantastic fries. Unfortuneately the quality and taste of their food has declined over the years. Many times you get cold food poorly assembled and dry burgers. Very long wait times. The managers don't seem to care. Often times out of soft drinks and unsweet tea. Effiecientcy is terrible. Such a shame.”

“Orders are almost always right and their "ice cream machine isn't down" as much as other McDonald's, so that's a plus. Service is usually pretty good, never had a problem here. At first sight, employees might seem distracted, not-caring, or on their phones, but any first assumptions I have are quickly flattened by their attentive, efficient, and considerate responses to my questions or orders. Have to say, one of the better McDonald's in Jackson.”
