“Pretty solid place for some chicken. The sandwich was juicy and had good flavor. The voodoo loaded fries and Cajun corn have the same seasoning so they taste pretty similar. There aren't many tables and it's a small space so I would recommend taking the food to go. It also takes a while for the food to come out so it's a good idea to order ahead.”

“I was coming out of Macy’s and the grilled flavor was mesmerizing. I came over and was not disappointed. This place is awesome!!! The food is fresh, flavorful, and authentic. The atmosphere is really laid back and pleasant. The restaurant is impeccably maintained and clean. I had the Huli Huli chicken lunch plate, it was delicious! The host, Micheal, was very professional and helped me select the perfect meal, he even helped me sign up for their rewards program - 😊 10 out of 10 I highly recommend.”

“Yes, theyre open. & I've never seen so many employees at a firehouse subs in my life, granted it's opening day. The place is immaculate compared to other locations. Again, Brand new. Wish there was some outside seating, as there is plenty of space for it and that they had online ordering available. Im sure it will come soon. Off to a great start and very happy to have another location closer to the central Barry area so don't have to go all the way to Tiffany Springs. Employees were all great and management was friendly. Will be coming back regularly. Great location DIRECTLY next to Starbucks if you can't spot it right away.”

“First time to DBS. Outstanding cheeseburgers! My friend ordered an 'Ol Classic double. I ordered a double patty melt, but got a double Sweet Heat instead. The mistake was fortuitous as the Sweet Heat was excellent. The onion rings were very good. There was no sweetener for the fresh brewed tea, but I mixed it with their fountain lemonade for an Arnold Palmer. Will definitely be back!”

“I ordered pickup through Doordash. Customer service was great. I ordered the chicken fried rice w/ 4 wings combo. The rice was pretty good and the sauce(honey braised) on the wings was great, but the chicken could definitely use some seasoning. It was pretty bland. I wasn't impressed, but I'm willing to give them another try to see if the chicken is better.”

“I had heard about this place today so my husband and I decided to try it. We were kind of unsure but got home and we both were both very happy. The food was amazing. Fajitas, rice and beans were wonderful. Give 5 stars 😊”

“WOW!! What a great place to get some DELICIOUS AUTHENTIC MEXICAN FOOD AND SNACKS. This establishment is so clean, you can tell the staff and owners take great pride and joy in the food they make as well as customer service. I would recommend anyone who wants some great tasting food or Ice cream to check this spot out. It is definitely superior to “Taco Rico” or anything in the northland. You will be impressed and not disappointed as they have a vast menu including breakfast items drinks and more. La Monarca actually knows what they are doing behind the kitchen. Every time I come the food is consistent and made with love and care just like my abuelita (grandma) would make. P.S I usually don’t write reviews but that’s how impressed I was with the Cuban torta it is delicious🔥😋”

“The atmosphere and overall design of the restaurant is beautiful. The cocktails are unique and amazing along with their small plates. They offer many craft non-alcoholic cocktails as well. There’s something for everyone and many vegetarian options as well. All small plates are very affordable— you can try many options, yet still have room for dessert and leave full. I love that their menu is seasonal and that they have specials each day, so you can always try something new. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. 10/10, will eat again!”

“Came here for Sunday Brunch. Our server was very friendly and have plenty of feedback on menu items and suggestions. The prices are a little higher than the standard Mexican restaurant. The portions are not huge. But the steak is very tasty and tender. The guacamole was fresh and spicy. And the chickarones came out popping and cracking. The taco shells were fried fresh.”

“Sometimes there are cravings for a pizza that doesn't come frozen or from a chain so you want a place doing fresh from the oven slices right? Well this new place that opened up in the north side of KC doing hot from the oven single slice combos and full pies for really affordable prices. Great place if you're in a hurry and want a quick slice or if you want to try some of their favorite slices out and then come back for the full pie later. The folding your slice is a must.”

“We didn't realize that this cool area closes during the winter, so when we stopped by for a late lunch, the owner of Vegan Crave was leaving and everything was closed. She actually reopened just for us, and whipped up the most amazing food for us in under 15 minutes! We had the Mushroom Po' Boy, The District Burger, and a full order of cheese fries. Be sure to have lots of napkins or wipes because the sandwiches are huge and full of incredible toppings. Everything was delicious, and the owner was an absolute treat to chat with. We will be back in the spring for sure! ❤️❤️”

“This place is one of the container restaurants located in the Iron District. They offer hamburgers, Reubens, BLTs, Philly cheesesteak and other sandwiches. For sides they have potato salad, french fries and fried okra. I got the Philly cheese and really liked it the taste of the beef, nice and salty. The French fries were nothing special. My wife had the BLT. This was uniquely made on sourdough bread with shredded lettuce. She liked it. I know food is becoming expensive but almost spending $30 for 2 without drinks and only 1 side... It seemed expensive.”

“This was my first time dining inside. And I have to say, I love it. I do not give a 5 star rating lightly. But , this place deserves it! The menu is new and innovative. I feel this food can be enjoyed by everyone. The lady who greeted us was welcoming and immediately brought life to our visit. Once our order was taken we were able to actually sit down with the owner and talk to him about his drive for creating this place. As well as his passion for food. Which I found to be refreshing. I highly highly recommend this. Chef Guru knocked this out of the park!”

“I checked out Tay's Cheesesteak for the first time today. I ordered the 6" basic Tay's Cheesesteak with fries and a drink. At first I must admit that I was taken back by the $10.00 price for a 6" sandwich with only fried onions, but it was truly made with thinly sliced steak and served in a very good roll (probably Roma). The fries were fresh, hot and seasoned to perfection for my taste so I didn't even need ketchup for them. All in all it was one of the best cheesesteaks that I've had in KC and while not cheap (I dinged them one star for price), you get what you pay for.”

“The barbecue is FANTASTIC! I had the burnt ends, pulled pork and brisket along with mac n cheese and the smoked baked beans. It was so good! We tried the kickin pickles and the pimento cheese dip appetizers. Highly recommend! Lisa took great care of us and we loved hearing her story of how her husband and she started the restaurant!”

“Small local business that has big flavor. I've been about 5 or 6 times now, and the food has always been amazing. They have fresh pizza on display and cold pizza in the fridge cheaper. I've had the meatball sub, muffaletta, Italian steak, and pizza so far (meatball is the best). All the food has been amazing! They've also got a small selection of condiments, boxed food, beer, and random foods. Some of these include products from the Amish community. Definitely worth checking out and grabbing some lunch/dinner sometime! Be sure to checkout their specials.”

“Super busy on a Friday night. The gentleman who ran the register, took orders and made pizzas, who I assume was the supervisor, had great customer service. Some customers were impatient and rude. He kept calm and continued working hard! It was nice to see someone with a smile and great service!”

“I was hesitant to try this place because the price ($16 dinner and $12 lunch) seemed almost too good to be true, but I was pleasantly surprised by everything about the restaurant. Not only do they have all you can eat buffet, hibachi, and sushi, but the service was amazing. The waiter came by multiple times to ask us if everything was okay and to refill our drinks. The quality of the food was high quality, with plenty of protein options in both the buffet and hibachi. The restaurant is spacious and comfortable to dine in. I will definitely be dining here again in the future.”

“Top-notch gaming tavern. Retail options were pretty limited but I understand it's got to be hard to compete with online sales - that said I found several games, miniatures and merchandise I liked at a very reasonable price. Really, though, this place is about providing a very cool, inclusive, friendly space for gaming. I came for a Paint And Take event, but arrived on the wrong day (Saturday is open DnD 5e play and there were tons of people there for it, while Thursday evening is when I should have come for painting miniatures.) That said, when I mentioned my goof, they immediately offered to get me the paints, brushes and a miniature to enjoy my time there a bit longer. While I did so, I met a number of patrons happy to talk about painting and gaming. Very good vibe here. Interesting selection of drinks, some spare miniatures for you to use if you don't have your own, and a solid offering of board games for all ages and interests. Would definitely recommend. Staff was really welcoming and engaging but not clingy/hovering.”

“Loved it!! The decor was SO detailed and spot on! I’d recommend coming in your best attire based on the vignette!! The drinks are perfectly themed! Robert, Delaney, and Scott we’re fantastic! Absolutely recommend making a reservation on the weekends OR just popping in to check it out! Such a COOL place!! :)”

“My wife and I have both loved the food here! We’ve been 3 times so far and plan on going back often. The food tastes great and the serving size is fair for the price. Also, the owner is super friendly and even gave us an extra naan to share on our first visit. If you like Indian food, you have to give Buddha Belly a try!”

“In looking for a local pizza place near our hotel, we stumbled on PatMac's and were very pleased! We enjoyed our dinner in the small dining area (3 or 4 tables, I believe) and had the opportunity to speak with the gracious and passionate owner. We shared their enormous dinner salad (fully loaded with fresh veggies), mozzarella sticks, and the "This and That" Pizza. The menu is creative and interesting, the ingredients were fresh and flavorful, and we were served quickly and politely! Keep up the great work, PatMac's!”

“Be careful when you eat here and make sure you have plenty of money in the bank because I guarantee that you’ll come back for more. Best and I mean the best tacos in the city. Unless my mom is making tacos you will not find better. I would say it’s a tie with my mom’s cooking. I think they make their tacos with love too. ❤️❤️❤️”

“Great locally owned business! I can get my bike adjusted while I have a beer! Friendly and knowledgeable staff and great service too! The bike shop has a nice selection without being overwhelming. The tap house always has a nice variety of beers on tap and the pizza is some of the best in KC.”
