“I was passing through Springfield from Chicago and stopped by here for a quick takeout. Got the Bluto- brisket and sausage; Turkey and side order of fries. My, my, one of the best briskets ever. I went there 30min before closing so I was afraid the remaining meats might be dry but man, it was the most tender, perfectly balanced and flavored brisket I’ve had in a while. Came with mild sauce which seemed like home made and it was just right amount of kick and smoothness. Owners were super friendly and seemed genuinely welcoming. I’m from Chicago where plenty of good BBQ joints are around but this place is a gem. I highly recommend it!!”

“usually this McAlister's it's slow. But because of covid-19 it was fast. As always the staff is really friendly and it was so easy to get a table. And they were very strict about people wearing masks. Which I appreciate. The food was excellent as always, and I just love McAlister's. “Very good! I've only eaten breakfast there before, so this was our first supper visit. The alligator starter was DELICIOUS! I hasld the salmon, my husband had the shrimp pasta, and our kiddo had chicken strips w fries. Salmon was good, especially the crispy grilled parts! The potatoes and veggies were fine, but I would have liked some salt/pepper. I didn't like his meal, but he loved it. The fries and chicken were just fine. Waitress was excellent!”

“I got the pulled pork which was great! My girlfriend got the beef brisket and it tasted like gas. So I had to share my pulled pork with her. So I definitely think 5his place is good but it was a bad day to try the brisket I guess. We have had it before and it didn't taste like that so I'm not sure what the problem was this last time. We are still overall pleased. I love the cheesy corn and the homecut french fries.”

“Such a wonderful atmosphere and decor. Very romantic, if that is what you are looking for. Everything was delicious from the house salad, French bread and entrees. I had the evening special and my spouse had a house specialty with sausages and a meatball with the pasta and sauce. Sadly we were way too full for dessert which looked delicious. Excellent food and service.”
