“We've eaten at several Chinese places in Independence. All are good, but Lao Peking is above the rest. We normally order take out. Portion size is excellent. Enough for two full meals. They make their own spicy mustard, you have ask for it otherwise you will just get the packages of mustard. They also make their own crab rangoon and their own egg rolls. Which makes them much better than the frozen ones.”

“An older restaurant converted to allow self service with a couple screen computers. I always get a original Big Breakfast with an English Muffin instead of a Biscuit and those fansy computers can't handle that. Employees are nice, the store is clean. They had TV's but they weren't working. No matter, who doesn't have a TV in their back pocket these days?”

“Panchos is really great. We/I keep strange hours, so the fact that they are open 24hrs is perfect. They've never messed up an order unlike nearly every other fast food place I go to. Their food is always fresh, hot, and delicious. I'd say that their prices are high, but when you take into account the consistency of the food and service, and the fact that their portions are gigantic, it's actually very fairly priced. My family loves Panchos!!!”

“This McDonald's has apparently went self service. That's obviously an advantage since the employees usually give bad service. Not surprising for a group of kids. I still come here because it's close to home even though half the time they're going to screw up your order. “Family took two of us visitors here her dinner (1 from Georgia, myself from California - both Midwest transplants). My individual pizza was very good with the exception of the added garlic which was from a jar and not the fresh I am used to. I did think the one topping large pizza was a bit on the high side at nearly $18. Spaghetti pie with chicken got rave reviews and looked very good. Side salad, entree, and 4 beers topped out at $99. The company alone was worth the price. One down side was, although I had no complaints about the service itself, we had 3 or 4 people who each had special service assignments and didn't communicate well.”

“I've been to Gates more times than I can count, growing up a few miles from the location in Independence. I will always be a fan of the beef and a half. I don't like their burnt end sandwich - it's too salty. Their ribs, beans and fries are also great. I don't think I've had anything else from their menu. Respective to the rest of KC, their sauce is much less sweet, more spicy.”

Soupy beans were flavorful, slightly spicy, Spanish rice fluffy and tortillas were fresh and piping hot. Friendly owner at the grill serving it up. May this place live long and prosper! Just so happen to stumble by this little place down the street from our hotel. If we said the food was delicious, that would be an understatement. By far the best home style soul food cooking we’ve had in a very long time. The service was great and the place was very clean. We will come back thru the next time we visit KC.”

“If you like boiled hamburger with little flavor made into every item on the menu, you will love this place. $9 for all you can eat tacos is fine if you like very plain tacos and are willing to eat at least 9. Chili is weird, must be an acquired taste. Tamales and tacos are not of Latin origin. Chili dog is 90% chili. Service and atmosphere is good.”

The sandwiches were priced at $4.95 each. The extra meat was $3.00 and I am pretty sure as thin as it was sliced, well they made their percentage. The sandwiches were yummy and they have a good selection.”

The quality of their meat the chicken that they use is actually pretty good now maybe I'm just soft or something but the hot buffalo is really hot so unless you want to get a surprise because you're used to the weaker hot buffalo that other places claim is hot I would go with medium Buffalo.”
