“I had been eyeing the opening of Acre for months after reading about it in a local magazine about new restaurants in KC. I scored a reservation to the soft opening, and had a wonderful meal. This level of elevated, yet approachable food is rare in the Midwest. The quaint, refined ambiance set the mood for the brightly colored, exquisitely plated cuisine. Highlights of my meal included a Pinot noir cava, heirloom tomato, goat cheese, and basil salad, and the black angus tenderloin with butterball potatoes and pickled corn. The steak was cooked to perfection, and was very flavorful due to the wood fired preparation that is the signature of Acre’s chef, Andrew Longres. I would have tried more on the menu, but was limited due to being gluten free. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and made sure everything on my plate catered to my dietary restrictions. I would love to see a gf dessert option. Overall I would say run, not walk to Acre once it’s fully open. It’s a meal you’ll certainly remember.”

“I always rate a mexican restaurant by the sauce, beans and rice. Sauce is amazing. Not too hot and not too mild. Rice was good. Beans authentic. Enchiladas were great. My husband asked for white cheese sauce on his and next time so will I. Restaurant had 4 tvs and the decor was painted walls. Very nice and much better than Rancho Grande. Prices were abit lower than neighboring mexican restaurants. Sweet tea was perfect!”

“Off the Hook BBQ catered our employee Christmas luncheon. All employees stated this was the best BBQ Truck we have had out to the plant. The burnt ends, chicken wings and cheesy potatoes were all favorites. Not only was the food good, but the service was outstanding as well. They got all 100 employees through the line quickly.”

“The food is very good - even items that seem simple are better than I've ever had anywhere else (in particular, the soft pretzels are ridiculously good). Everything I've had there has been great. I love the laid-back vibe and the baseball theme but get annoyed that there aren't any TVs showing baseball. Also, the last time we visited it was a little warm in the dining room, which is strange because it wasn't that hot outside. When the full experience catches up with the food, I will happily give Mudville a 5-star review.”

“So, I was sitting around the house this afternoon when visions of tenderloins started dancing in my head. So, what better place to go for a good tenderloin than a place that's known for its wings. That's right, I went to AL's Bar & Grill over in the Parkville area tonight. As soon as you walk into this place, the first thing that hits your senses is the vinegar of the wing sauce that they use. That aroma just fills your senses. Alas, the bar was full, I found a tall table to sit at and pretty soon a waitress came by and took my order. I questioned her about the tenderloin. You see, I like my loins just a little bit on the thick side slightly chewy but yet still tender. If there's one thing I do not like in a tenderloin is one that is flattened out to the size of a hubcap and paper thin to me they’re tough and tasteless. I went with onion rings instead of the fries. And pretty soon there was a cold beer in front of me and I was waiting patiently for a basket full of food. I did not have to wait long! Soon she brought me a basket full of Golden-Brown Tenderloin with just the right amount of bun overhang. It was probably around 3/8” of an inch thick, fried perfectly. I started to build the sandwich by putting down some lettuce, a few pickles, some tomato, onion, and spread a little mayo on the warm, slightly toasted bun, and finished it off with a healthy squirt of Frenches mustard. Taking a bite, I got a taste of the warm slightly toasted bun with its mayo and the bite of the mustard, then came the crispy crunch of the lettuce and onion, followed by crispy crusty texture of the breading. And then came the tender, savory pork! Heaven on a bun! Hot fresh onion rings all washed down with a cold beer! Well Done Al’s Bar & Grill! Well Done Indeed!”
