This was a nice family owned style Chinese restaurant. We stopped to have lunch and enjoyed the sesame tofu and vegetable lo mein with some iced tea. The flavors were good and nothing was too greasy. I would recommend this if you're in the area and looking for American style Chinese food.

This was one of the best rated food joints in town, so we tried it last night on our way through. It wasn’t anything spectacular, but it wasn’t bad either. I’ve been to a lot of poor Chinese food restaurants lately, and this was better than most of my recent experiences, but didn’t particularly impress me either.

We ordered a couple of appetizers, a couple of soups, and 3 types of chicken.

Soups came out quite quickly and were fine. Egg drop soup and hot and sour soup. The kids and I liked the hot and sour better, but hubby liked the egg drop better. We thought that both could have been a bit more flavorful though.

For appetizers, we had egg rolls and cream cheese wontons. Both came out fairly soon after the soup, and were very fresh and crispy, so that was nice. For the thickness of the wontons, we would have appreciated a little more of the cream cheese mixture, but they were still enjoyable. Egg rolls were good enough too. Nothing too special.

The chicken dishes we had were cashew chicken, Szechuan chicken and General Tsao. The cashew was decent, but not terribly flavorful. Lots of onions and green bell peppers. I don’t think there were cashews in the dish, but they were piled on top. The general tsao was breaded and had a decent flavor, but was unfortunately quite tough to chew. I usually love breaded chicken, but it was a bit much for my jaw. The Szechuan was not breaded and was also decent, but not very flavorful. The chicken was very tender though, so that was good. LOTS of carrots and onions in the Szechuan. It also had a crown of broccoli around it, which made it prettier. Both the Szechuan and the general tsao had a little bit of spice to them, but nothing crazy.

The chicken dishes came out with one big plate of rice that looked kind of yellow-orange. I am not sure what made the color, as I really didn’t detect much flavor. Hubby thinks oil made the color, and it was a little oily—so maybe he was right.

The elderly gentleman taking our order was kind. He was also the one to bring us all of our food. I think he might own the place? All of the food came out in quite a timely manner. We did have to wait a bit for the check because he was taking the order of a very large group, but probably only waited about 10 minutes after finishing eating.

The bathrooms could have used a little bit of attention, with a bunch of paper towels/toilet paper on the ground by the walls, but I know it can be hard for small places to do everything at once. At least there was a changing table in the Women’s restroom though. Also, they’re single-user restrooms, not stalls.

Was traveling through Ogallala and decided to stop and grab a bite with the family eat just based on the Google reviews and was not disappointed! The food was fast and amazing despite my rather large order and the restaurant was very clean! We will definitely be coming back here again soon!!

A cozy and warm restaurant to fulfill your Chinese food needs! Came across this wonderful joint while passing through Ogalalla, and it is surely recommended if you are interested in Chinese food. The takeout food was delicious; not too oily, not too spicy, well balanced in flavor, just the right quantity, the right meat & veggies ratio, and did I mention tasty? 5/5 recommend.
