My favorite is the pesto veggie with added feta cheese. All the pies are delicious and the Kale salad is fantastic(if you can get it; it’s frequently sole out because it is so good!).

During Juplaya I had the unmitigated pleasure of tasting two of High Rock Pizza's pies. As a born New Yorker - and one who has tasted slices from Reykjavík to Cape Town to Kaua'i to Costa Rica - I feel qualified to cast judgement on all things that dare call themselves pizza. These pies were a success.

The first thing one needs to know is that these travel well, something vital given that many of these pizza pies will wind up being eaten on the nearby Black Rock Desert (named, clearly, for the pizzeria). A journey of 12 miles on the highway and another 3 into the desert just added to the glory. Which brings us to the second thing:

The crust on these pies is in the style of hand-tossed Neapolitan pizza, thin enough to stay out of the way, structurally firm enough to hold all the tasty, tasty goodness to get it into your mouth rather than your lap. Perfectly executed at the right thickness to stay crunchy despite the travel. The cornicione - the outer edge of the crust - is so tasty that there won't be any discarded "rinds" to pack out. No MOOP.

The Tommy (red sauce, mozzarella) is your basic pile 'o satisfaction: nothing distracts from the tasty sauce and gooey, melted cheese. The flavors are nicely balanced; one doesn't walk away with a cloying aftertaste of either, rather with a happy blend of the spices and ingredients.

The Railroad Combo (red sauce, mozzarella, pepperoni, sausage, mushroom, olive) was even better than the Tommy, in my humble opinion: with each bite came an explosion of different flavor. One bite was all about the pepperoni, another was all mushroom and olive, and a third was as sausage-y as anything found in Alphabet City, Manhattan. No bite was unbalanced, and the afterglow was a pure delight. Aftercare consists of hydration and carefully tucking away the box for any future cardboard signage or fire-starting needs. Waste not, want not.

Tragically, I didn't have the time on this trip to eat my way through the entire menu, but fear not - dear readers - it's on my to-do list. In my stead I heartily urge you to drive on over, order any and all of Seth's pies, and leave a better person (or at least one that's full and more in tune with the universe).

The Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana would be proud of these pies. 'nuff said.

Amazing pizza! Great place to stop if you are passing through the area or visiting for Burning Man.

Great Pizza! But remember, get home before it gets dark. The roads are pitch black. If you break down in this general area at night? You can't see your hand right in front of your face...
