Food is decent. Ice cream is okay. They do not allow you to order a baby size ice cream in a cone. They let you put it in a cup with a cone on top. Now your left juggling your own ice cream while trying to scoop your kids ice cream into their cone. Meanwhile they are upset that there ice cream doesn't look good. This rule makes no sense to me. Hope they fix it because it's non sense.

My family has been going to Sawyer's for the past 16 years. It is rare in the restaurant business to see such consistency over that long. It is not fine dining and they do not serve alcohol, but if you are looking for a good meal quickly with great service in a clean place, there is nothing that compares to Sawyer's. We often opt for Sawyer's on some evenings when we're considering other "finer dining" places: places where we have found quality to be less consistent and often not worth the value. We've seen many other restaurants in the area come and go, and others go from great to subpar service. The owners at Sawyer's are hands on, often on site. The staff is friendly, attentive, constantly walking booth to booth to ensure that customers are happy and to keep the place clean. There is an ice-cream takeout window as well, a favorite of my children as well as pretty much anyone who is visiting us during the summer. Having worked in the restaurant business for over 10 years in the 1980's and 90's, and having managed a couple myself, I have a good sense of the challenges these owners face in maintaining their business year after year. No I do not know the owners although anyone who goes to Sawyer's will likely not them, as I have numerous times, and no I am not affiliated. I am simply someone who truly appreciates a great restaurant experience, which is becoming harder to find at many places.

We went to Sawyers tonight, three out of four ordered the seafood platter, and one Rubin. The service was fast and the food awesome! We always go there before a concert. Best seafood ever!

A bit slow if there's a line, but the best ice cream in the area so it's worth the wait. Extremely generous portion sizes: a "kiddie" size should be enough for most adults. Lots of flavors and they give samples if you can't decide. All the standards, plus better versions (e.g. mint Oreo; black raspberry truffle). Sugar cones are good enough that paying more for a waffle cone isn't necessary. They have plenty of shaded outdoor seating. I've been going there for years, but I've never had anything but ice cream, so I can't speak to the quality of the food.

Holy buckets. This is the motherload of seafood clam shacks in the area. Fresh, light fry, so you know it's super clean. Run by this amazing old couple, who were totally in the kitchen working the line when we visited. Locals told us to get the scallop roll - they were right. Clam strip dinner was a hit, and kids meals were fresh and happily devoured, which doesn't happen often by my spawn. The line can be long. Prepare to wait, but it's totally worth it. Homemade ice cream at the end was an awesome little bonus.
