“We love their chowder! This place is small, and hidden a bit, but worth the effort to find. The chowder is lovely and creamy, and has just enough clam to make it great. There's usually not much of a wait, and there are two small seating areas. They feature chowder in bowls or bread bowls, as well as a few related items. Take out is also available. We come here usually out of season, and the vibe is pleasant and warm.”

“The Windmill on LBI is THE place to get ice cream! Located in Bay Village, this shop is full of friendly faces and delicious ice cream flavors. During our frequent trips to the shop, we enjoyed vanilla, cookies n’ cream, sweet and salty, rocky road, strawberry, black raspberry, and cookie dough. It’s almost impossible to pick a favorite but I would have to go with the waffle topped with a scoop of each strawberry and black raspberry ice cream, fresh strawberries, and whipped cream. Ah-maze-ing!!! Can’t wait to try more flavors next time I’m in LBI!”

“The food was good. We had a rib eye, halibut with meyer lemon sauce, and the burger. Our server, Liv, was super sweet, kind, and attentive. We made a reservation and our table was ready upon arrival. This was super helpful because a high chair was ready for us. The food was quick and the atmosphere was cute. We will go back!”

“Glad to be down in New Jersey again to experience real NY style pizza. This place sits across from the water park and is delicious and only serves pizza or fries from a pickup window and both are excellent!! I ordered a slice here and it was gigantic and so greasy and good I loved it! The fries were equally great, skins on and long and large and tasty. Prices are right and they serve old style sodas from Birch beer to 7up. Loved it!”

“Good ice cream, but a bit expensive. You can literally go to the grocery store 4 blocks away and buy a pint of the same ice cream for less then a cone. That being said their milk shakes and smoothies are very good. They use fresh ingredients so it is worth the cost. Their location is excellent, right on the main road and near popular attractions in town.”

“Been coming to lbi for many years. First time at Fred’s Beach haven diner and it was great! It was me, my mom and my 3 year old son. I usually get nervous taking my son to a restaurant for the obvious fact that he could get restless. They offer coloring books and baskets of toys for the children. I was able to sit and enjoy my meal and my son played nicely next to me. Our waitress, Tammy, was extremely polite, patient, and friendly. The food was delicious (French fries are very tasteful) and the price is fair. We will be back! Thank you.”

“Barry's has become our new go-to dinner (and lunch) spot on the island during our vacation here each year. The food is always top-notch, everyone is friendly and the in-house ice cream shop is a real hit for the kids (OK and us parents too). Prices are reasonable, food comes out quickly. What more can you ask for. This hidden gem is just off the main drag, but well worth the visit. You won't be let down!”

First and foremost, turn off that cellphone. No excuses! “My steamers were kind of cold when they came out and the sweet potato fries were eh. However the calamari is very good and so is the pulled pork burger. I recommend regular fries, extra crispy and instead of getting small plates get the combos such as Neptune's, and the Main Event. Also the wait for our food wasn't long at all, they open at 11:30 am and are open until 10 pm. I recommend going closer to when they open so it's not as busy and you won't have to wait long for your food. Overall very good service and I would go again.”

“What an incredible first experience at the Beach House. I admit, I was a little weary given some of the reviews but with anything, I took them with a grain of salt. Really happy I did because the experience myself and my group had was nothing short of amazing. First, the hostess was very friendly and sat us right away. We were a party of four adults and a toddler. Our waitress was super friendly and attentive. To start we ordered the house calamari which was absolutely delicious in a tomato sauce with a hint of spice. My husband also ordered the soup of the day which was shrimp and scallop bisque. He really enjoyed it and I also had a taste and have to agree it was delicious. For entrees I had the herbed French chicken, and the remainder of the party had the stuffed flounder, the Nanny's (half rack of ribs with a crab cake) and surf and turf. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal.”

“The New Year’s Eve “special menu” was doubled in price & very limited. You had to buy a package which included an appetizer & dessert. My appetizer of fresh tuna was paltry and served on 2 tortilla chips .It was tasty,but looked like elf food. My companion’ s meal was a chicken & veal combo covered in brown gravy.It looked like a giant burger. Not a piece of parsley or vegetable in sight to improve an unappetizing presentation. Our meals were not special at all and very over priced.”
