“Decent place to park, clean outside, says two hour limit on parking? Has two EV charging stations, room for several 18 wheelers.. no good food to speak of unless you like the fried allsups stuff, not for me .”

Penny's Diner

Address: 1005 US Hwy 285, Vaughn, NM 88353, USA

Restaurant

“Driving through Vaughn and stoped by the dinner to get something to eat. Overall not a bad experience. The food was good and at a decent price. I had the Hearty Breakfast and it was pretty good. The only reason not giving it five stars was because the customer service was lacking. Not bad, but seemed like the cashier and cook were just going through the motions and not putting much effort into their work. Cashier didn't greet me as I entered and rarely came by to ask if I needed anything and seemed like she didn't want to be there. Overall not a bad place, just need to be better when it comes to customer service. A smile now and then wouldn't hurt either.”

Annie's Restaurant

Address: 2963, I-40BL, Santa Rosa, NM 88435, USA

“We enjoyed a great breakfast and friendly service. The scrambled eggs were fluffy and delicious. The French toast was crispy and flavorful. The generous sized New Mexico omelet was excellent. The coffee was good; however, avoid the tea. It was not good and had to exchange it for a coke.”

Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen

Address: 2634 U.S. Rt. 66, Santa Rosa, NM 88435, USA

Restaurant

“Very cool place to check out but if it rains there is a little lake around the cars so you can't paint anything. Free to check out, small souvenir stand. Also don't try to paint the highway barriers as the cops do ticket people. Be safe spraying on windy days too.”

Santa Rosa Campground & RV Park

Address: 2136 Historic, U.S. Rt. 66, Santa Rosa, NM 88435, USA

Restaurant

“We had read the reviews so we knew what to expect when checking in. In the time we were in the office, Chris was checking in an elderly couple with us next in line. With his headset on, he answered 3 calls. For each caller he briefly explained he was checking guests in and said he would call them back. He stayed focused on first come first served. He was focused and didn't extend the conversations. He maintains control of the park so that the guests are safe, I presume. Driving in to the park to look around without asking is frowned upon. If anyone has an issue with it, you need to consider if you would want people driving through your home place unannounced. We stayed one night. We would stay again. The grounds were clean with a desert setting (gravel, no grass). The bathrooms had a vintage look...clean for the age of the facility.”

Mr. Bee's Coffee & Teas

Address: 400 Corona Ave, Santa Rosa, NM 88435, USA

Bakery Cafe Restaurant

“What a gem! Staff were super friendly, service was quick (both food and drink) and the cafe is beautiful. Prices are so cheap but food and drink are top quality. My 3 kids were buzzed to even find Boba Tea on the menu! If you need a rest stop on the I-40 out of New Mexico, forget Starbucks, this place wins hands down.”

Comet II Drive In & Restaurant

Address: 1257 U.S. Rt. 66, Santa Rosa, NM 88435, USA

Restaurant

“Traveling and went by for supper. This is a family run business since 1927. The restaurant is on historic route 66 in Santa Rosa New Mexico. The menu has a variety of items listed; hamburgers, steak shrimp, fish, New Mexican ethnic food and pie. One wall has historic items. The food is very tasty. I did have to ask for a second glass of tea, otherwise I would not have recived one. The tea glass is small. They were all very friendly.”

“Food was great and service too. Not all Mexican restaurants have good salsa for chips but at this place, salsa was great if you are a salsa lover. Guacamole was delicious too. Tamales are huge so I’d recommend 2 or the platter. Will definitely stop again when in the area..Houston love ❤️”

Sun & Sand Restaurant

“Seems these guys are only open for breakfast and lunch. We were working across the road at the Dollar General, the store manager recommended them. We arrived only just before closing but they were happy to serve us. The food was yummy and the service courteous and attentive. Great place to grab breakfast or lunch, probably a shame they don’t serve dinner also. Thanks Sam for the recommendation.”

“Hubby and I really enjoyed this restaurant. The chicken fried steak breakfast plate was delicious! The chicken fried steak was cooked to perfection. My egg sandwich on wheat was tasty and not salty. Try this place!”

Silver Moon Cafe

Address: 2545 Historic Route 66, Santa Rosa, NM 88435, USA

Cafe Restaurant

“This place is not only beauty but very delicious. I ordered the green Chile blue corn enchiladas and it was amazing! I normally shy away from beans but I decided maybe they where better then what I knew back home. DAMN was I right! Everything was seasoned just right to give it a wonderful palate taste. My friend ordered the green Chile stew and we ended up sharing. It was also super amazing and both dishes had very good portions. Our server was delightful and attentive but not pushy. Definitely a good place to stop in if your in town!”

“Food was very good. The service was great, and the seving sizes were very big portions for the price. The menu was eclectic, so you can get pizza, nachos, burgers, sandwiches, and so much more. Something for everyone. I will definitely make this a stopping point point when passing through town.”

Diego's Pizza

Address: 1775 U.S. Rt. 66, Santa Rosa, NM 88435, USA

Restaurant

“We chose delivery and ordered a medium hand-tossed pizza with pepperoni, pineapples and jalapeños and a house salad with thousand. It arrived in less time than expected. The salad was basic but cold and hit the spot. It was enough for my husband and I to share. The pizza was delicious! Thin chewy crust, just the right amount of sauce and toppings! It was great and my husband was a very happy camper! Asked for ranch and got bigger containers than expected. All in all, it was a great pizza takeout experience. Will definitely order again the next time we’re passing through. 10/10 Sorry! No pics. Ate it all before we remembered the camera eats first!🤦🏻‍♀️”
