“Alexandria Bay is a small village sitting on the south bank of St Lawrence River right by the New York and Canadian border. This river has 1864 islands, hence the name 1000 Islands and name of this delightful eatery. We were here on a quiet Sunday evening where our wonderful waitress catered to our needs in perfection. We began with a couple of cocktails and the hit was this hot cider cocktail including cinnamon and nutmeg along with fresh apple and orange slices suspended in hot cider mixed with vodka in our case ( original was made with apple whiskey). We continued with some absolutely fresh New England clam chowder, the kind where vegetables still have a lot of crunch and clams are soft and chewy; surely one of the best and not too heavy at all. We continued with a steak salad (not pictured) with crisp romaine, superb blue cheese and well seasoned steak strips. Trying the maple balsamic dressing was simply an unexpected flavor bonus. Finally we had the butter pecan cake which tasted fresh and very much homemade. We are passing through these parts to see the fall colors, but would come back in a heart beat. Highly recommended to all travelers and others alike. THANK YOU!”

“We had the joy of celebrating our wedding day at Bonnie Castle Resort and Marina this summer. We cannot express how grateful we are, and how amazing our wedding day was. We had our ceremony on their breathtaking gazebo, overlooking the river we have called home for our whole lives. The Home of the Stars reception room is huge, beautiful, welcoming, and so simple to decorate and make it your own. Angie is one of the kindest humans you will meet in your entire life. From the initial meetings, the food tasting, the late night stress emails, Angie was there with a smile and an answer to every question we stirred up! Not only was our experience stress free, it was so much fun. Angie and the staff at Bonnie Castle were there to lend a hand and support our every need. They were flexible, kind, and willing to try out any new or crazy ideas we may have had, and do it with a smile! The food was incredible. All of our guests commented about the ease of use of the buffet line, the delicious food options, and the speed and efficiency the staff was able to serve our crew of 200+ guests. The hotel accommodations were an integral part of our wedding day. The apartment suite used for the bridal party to get ready in was large and had everything we needed. Allowing our guests the options of hotel rooms and boat slips allowed everyone to have the best time possible, all day and night! We loved that Bonnie was truly a ‘one stop shop’ wedding venue. Thank you to Angie and the crew at Bonnie. We love you all!!”

“Service, atmosphere, and food were spot on! The server interacted with our older son and made it a really enjoyable experience. We had 5 adults and 2 children and they set us up in a spot where my oldest could see the boats coming in and out. Being from Buffalo, we know our food, and everything we had was delicious. Loved the Huckleberry fishbowl!!!”

“Great place! The food was delicious. Our party consisted of a vegan, meat eaters, and someone looking for lite fare. The ingredients in everything was fresh. The appetizers were amazing and each of us were thrilled with our meal. We also lucked out with the weather and got to enjoy the lovely outdoor patio. I Will eat here every time I'm in the area.”

“We dined outside. It was worth the mosquito bite to my ankles. This seasonal restaurant has stiff competition. Our wait staff was warm , welcoming, attentive, and informative. The food was excellent. We were seated promptly. I would return to this restaurant.”

“Good coffee, decent prices. Didn't try the food, but it looked delicious! Dining area is small, but there is outdoor seating. Great to grab a cup of coffee and a donut before your ferry or boat trip.”

“Really great pizza. The crust was crispy and buttery. Lots of cheese. We ordered one for in the restuarant and ordered 2 more to take back for everyone else because it was so good. Some of the best pizza I've had in a long time. Just a really good classic pizza. I'll definitely get more next time I'm around Alexandria Bay.”

“Went in right when it opened to get a quick drink. The atmosphere was a site to see with the boat as a bar and plenty of relics on the wall. The place itself is quite large with indoor restaurant seating and outdoor patio. They have lots of bands come in for the summer. Definitely worth a stop in. Staff were very nice as well.”

“Nice little place over the water. Small menu, but decent food. Drinks were good but small. Wait staff was great! Note that this place is only upstairs, and is on a outdoor patio. Not fun during wind and storms! I recommend a try.”

“Classic American diner with good basic food, especially breakfast. Comes out fast so you can enjoy your day. French in name only (don't be confused by the Google label - this is not a French restaurant)”

“Just got back from a trip to the Thousand islands in Alexandria Bay. We ate here last night and this was one of my favorite restaurants! I had the Ruben egg rolls as a appetizer with thousand island dressing as a dip and it was delicious. Very nice to have a Ruben wrapped up in a little egg roll. The main meal was their smokehouse half chicken and their BBQ sauce and all the dry rub seasonings was sensational! It was probably the best BBQ sauce I’ve ever had. It was served with fries and corn bread which was so soft and yummy and really went well with the chicken. If your visiting Alexandria Bay NY, definitely stop by here for a delicious dinner.”

“We look forward to eating there every time we go up to Alexandria Bay. We've never been disappointed in all the years that we have been going, which has been for very many. The food and service is consistently excellent. We always know when we go there that it will be a great experience. I always get the salmon and my husband always gets the prime rib. Occasionally they do run out of the prime rib, because it is so popular. They recently redid the interior (painted, maybe added some mirrors) which made it lighter and brighter. If I could I would give them 10 stars out of 5.”

“Very good. Not huge portion. But not huge price. So that's a win. Didn't give a 5 because I ordered eggs medium and they were not done as much as I like. They were still edible tho and staff was excellent.”

“I had a such a wonderful experience at Fins! First of all, the fish tanks located around the entire restaurant are beautiful and so much fun to look at. The prices are VERY reasonable and our food was tasty! I got the vegetable primavera and my fiance got the shrimp tacos - zero complaints!! We loved it so much, we joked about going again for our next meal. The service was fast and the server was kind.”

“Not quite a restaurant, not quite a diner. If you find yourself in the middle of nowhere not a bad place for an occasional meal. However I wouldn't recommend it as a destination. Average quality, competent service, however no atmosphere whatsoever.”
