Great service. When we first arrived we were seated quickly no long lines like the one on 42nd street. I like this location better will return again soon.
I used to go to the location at 8th St. & University Place (when it was simply called BBQ), now gone for years. I've been to the Chelsea and W42 St. locations many times, and, as you might expect by now, found those experiences enjoyable.
My visit to the E. Village location, however, was disappointing.
Took a long time to place my order. The 1/2 chicken was OK but smaller than I remember, and the salad was a bit wilted-looking. Wait staff seemed disinterested and generally hard to find.
If and when I try this chain again, it will be at another location. Management, take note.
My daughter and I ate there for her Birthday yesterday and it was amazing 👏.
Everyone from the Host to The Busser where wonderful.
I appreciate how a wonderful customer and her family asked to sing my daughter Happy Birthday 🎂.
I thought that was Beautiful 😍 when the staff and the woman and her family had the staff bring out a pieces of red velvet cake and all began to my daughter Happy Birthday.
I recently laid my aunt to rest not on 3 days prior to my daughters birthday and because I am a civilian contracted with the military dental department I had to leave to base the same day I laid my aunt to rest .
I had just returned from base the same day as my daughters birthday, so with sadness in mt heart I didn't have time to plan a full dinner birthday with friends and family.
So imagine my surprise when complete stranger came to my rescue not even knowing that they were doing me a great service .
Thank You To That Family and The BBQ Staff at BBQ 2nd Ave .

My family has been going here for as long as I can remember! The staff are generally courteous, and the place is clean throughout. Our usual order is the Early Bird, which is a great item - tasty, affordable and good quantity! My favorite cornbread ever is the Dallas BBQ cornbread!! 😋
An honestly lovely place. The staff is so kind and friendly, the receptionists are sometimes distracted on their phones and seem to variate a lot, but honestly I’d be pretty bored waiting at a desk with no chair for that many hours at a time too. The food is so good! It’s high quality, delicious food. I could say that it’s expensive, but one - you’re in Manhattan; everything is expensive. And two - the food is like, that good. There’s an iconic fun and lively atmosphere with the best mood lighting. Definitely worth it for a nice dinner, and even for lunch!
