“Let me tell you about the fried chicken. Crispy, flavorful, and just the right amount of grease. This is the epitome of soul food. Probably the best fried chicken thigh I have ever had. The leg was great too, but the thigh was on another level. Hit that bad boy with some hot sauce and prepare your taste buds for a ride. For sides, I had mac & cheese along with pinto beans. The pinto beans were standard fare. Exactly what I was expecting, but not really jumping out at me. But that mac & cheese was absolute fire. It wasn't too dry or too runny, but somewhere right in the middle with a hint of that baked cheese flavor and crunch. When I go back, I may order a double portion. It was that good.”

“My first experience in there was not too good but I went back to give it a second try. The food was great and our waiter was very friendly and attended to our needs quickly. The dinning area and bathrooms are very clean . And I noticed that Not only did they wipe down the tables & swept the area after a group of people left they also mop the floor around the sitting area immediately for the next customers. I will definitely return.”

“We had Lucita's last night at Thirsty Dog and I was pleasantly surprised! Sometimes it's hard to find a good food truck. But Lucita's was great! Our group had chicken tacos, quesobirria tacos (THE BEST!), and they even made a gluten free plate for one of us. Nice people, as well. Looking forward to having this again. Definitely try the quesobirria tacos!”

“This place is AMAZING! It is a family owned and ran restaurant. We drove up from Charlotte to meet family and they recommended this place and boy, what a great choice! If you love Collard Greens, Mac & Cheese, Yams, you MUST order them. I had the deep fried ribs and my husband had the honey fried chicken. I truly don't think there is a bad item on their menu. This restaurant is a MUST GO but they do close at 7pm so don't come late!”

“I wish I could have given a 3.5 star because that would be a better indicator of our experience. We placed our order and it was ready in a timely manner, although you have to repeatedly call to get a call through. Apparently they only have one line. The place was slammed and people were waiting to get a parking place. We got our order home and although we had asked for 4 sides of ranch dressing ( my grandkids favorite) there was none. Neither did they give us the extra tzatziki or seasoning on fries. This was the second incident of this happening. I called them, was not ugly, but frustrated and explained to them what was missing and that this was the second time this had happened. The woman on the phone said let me look at the ticket, came back and said it wasn’t on the ticket, like that made it better, no apology, just said you can talk to the manager, she basically asked what do you want me to do? I said “at least apologize for the mistake”, and I wanted to bring this to your attention that this is a repeated problem. Again, not good customer service attitude and repeated “ do you want to speak to a manager”. I said no, and hung up. The sandwiches we had were excellent, the fries were lacking our last two experiences with them. They definitely need more help and training in customer service. If and when we order again we won’t leave without checking our order.”

“Absolutely thrilled this location is open. We were seated quickly on a Friday night and the staff was extra friendly. Our waitress was wonderful, very attentive and on the ball. Food was great ...crispy fries, onion rings that weren't at all greasy, hot and delicious sandwiches that were huge. We were visited at our table by the manager and the owner, both of whom were super friendly and stayed to talk. This location was beautiful and well laid out. Sammy's will be a regular stop for us as the menu is exciting and I can't wait to try them all! Definitely make plans to visit here soon!”
