“It's a really cool spot! It was such a nice place for drinks with friends or a date night. The inside is beautiful art deco, and the food is delicious. The deviled eggs are a must try. The drinks were strong and very tasty, with the Saint Charles being our tables favorite of the evening, it had a nice smokiness to it. The only thing we want to see is maybe a vegetarian dish and a gluten-free option as there were none. Our server, Jameson, was wonderful and attentive! Definitely recommend checking this spot out.”

“Went for dinner at Pizza Baby in Charlotte NC and saw that Streetcar Bar & Bites was open so decided to check it out. Was a Monday night so not too busy but really enjoyed and liked the space. They played really good music and had a lot of bar seating and plenty of tables. I had a few glasses of wine and my bf had beer. They had a pretty good selection of both as well as cocktails. My only negative is that my wine glass was empty for about 10 minutes and I had to ask for another. No big deal on my end but they would have made a lot more money on me lol. The food was solid. The fries were definitely hand cut and crispy and seasoned well. The bartender also suggested the corn and crab fritters. They were light and not greasy and crunchy. Will definitely come back And have other things for sure!”

“My grandmother had car trouble on 77 while traveling back to FL from NC. She stopped at this gas station to wait for me to come help her. By the time I arrived, several employees from the store had come outside and gone above and beyond in helping her to get her car back in working order to make it home. Some of the kindest people I have ever met and words cannot express my appreciation!”

“If You Don’t Go You Won’t Know! FYI: GRATUITY IS AUTOMATICALLY ADDED. Saw the recent IG shoutouts and thought we would give Capitaine a visit. Stopped in on a Thursday evening at 8pm for a late bite to eat. Upon entering the vibe is a cozy and intimate space. The seating area to the left of entrance seems a bit awkward but is functional. There are a few high top tables in the center and four large booth tables to accommodate a party of four or five easily. The bar offers additional seating. The crowd was moderate, not overwhelming but the only two waitresses(one was also the bartender)seemed a bit stretched out. We weren’t greeted upon entering and attempted to seat ourselves but all vacant tables had dirty plates left from previous patrons. The manager finally cleaned a table. When ordering we asked about drinks shown on IG and if they had a drink menu. They do not but we were told they can pretty much make whatever you want. We also noticed hookah pipes sitting near the bar as well as another customer smoking hookah when we walked in. Had to ask the waitress what the price was and flavors. There was no menu or listing for this either. While waiting on food we noticed a few customers complained about their food orders and checks being wrong. I saw a few people have to inquire about their orders being slow. We ordered food at approximately 8:10pm and received entrees 8:54pm. Entrees we ordered were the Capitaine Platter (grilled shrimp, lobster tail, and a side of plantain) Also ordered the Mango Habanero wings with a side of fries. Drinks were Sunrise Mimosa Margarita and Blue Lemon Drop, they left a lot to be desired. Lobster was over cooked, shrimp were ok. Had to ask for drawn butter for lobster which seemed foreign to them and it was obvious from lack of seasoning and refrigerator taste. Wings were the smallest I’ve seen. Not sure where they found that chicken and there was not a lick of heat for the habanero. Best thing ordered were the plantains.”

“The coffee, sangrias, the loaded potatoes and the Cuban sandwich - all reminded me of Key West . Nice little cafe with Cuban inspiration in Ballantyne. Sit at the bar or grab a seat because this place will take you to Little Havana. Menu and drinks were all Cuban inspired. Daily specials. Food cooked and prepped with care and the details (like crispy chopped vegetables in the Loaded Potatoes) are appreciated. English and Spanish speaking staff. I would just go everyday for the Cuban coffee but that’s just me. Casual but nice. No screaming kids or riff here. Lively atmosphere. And they have Red Stripe beer so…they just opened so hopefully they stick around. Prices are reasonable at around 10-15 dollars an item. Foodies come check it out!”

“Y'all know I love a good hidden gem, and this is one of them. Tucked away in the VALUE MART, you will find Mister Charles Chicken and Fish. You may recognize thee name as they have multiple locations around the city, typically with a long line. The great news is this location is all the awesome taste you expect from the other locations, but minus the wait. The atmosphere is nothing glamorous. Let's face it, it's carryout only, so no seating, and it's in a gas station, BUT the food is amazing, the price is low for the quality, and the service was super nice and helpful! I got the 2 piece with potato wedges ($5) and the flounder sandwich ($6, sorry I at half before taking the pic). Both of which were fantastic and I will be coming back for sure.”

Can’t wait to go back! Oh btw we went with our kids and they loved it, a lot of food option for everyone in the family. The adult cocktails were amazing! Great job!”

“Hosted a company outing here. When went up to check in with the staff, stood there for 5 min before anyone bothered to acknowledge me, in spite of the fact I was the only one at the counter and it was 3 workers. One had his head stuck in some tablet and the other two were just chit chatting. I was prepared to wait as long as possible to see how long it would take for them to acknowledge me. When one did, she acted like I was truly bothering her. But my coworkers and I still had a great time. The pizza was delish and the chicken too. Although I was not pleased with the 92 grade I saw on the kitchen wall, but our event was paid for in advance so just had to deal. I haven’t been to this alley in years so I was glad to see that the floors were not a dingy carpet anymore. Also I would have thought since we spent quite a bit of money with this reservation that at some point a manager would have came over and introduced themselves and thanked us for the business. If there was a manager around, him/her definitely did not make themselves known. All the workers looked like they wanted to be anywhere else but there.”
