“The service was really slow but they had gotten an order before ours of 16 happy meal along with 8 adult orders. They were were working as fast as they could and we're very upfront about what was going on. The staff was friendly and doing the best they could in a trying situation. No-one lost their cool and they worked great as a team. They kept the guests from getting irritated. It was impressive. The store was clean and we'll lit.”

“Very authentic Mexican food. Frozen margaritas were great. Chips/Salsa was very good. Main courses were very good - my shrimp, chicken and steak fajitas were superb! Restaurant ambience was a bit lacking, and it had a funky smell to it that I couldn’t quite place. That said, service was spot-on, and it’s well worth your time if in Carolina Beach.”

“Awesome little family friendly restaurant! We stopped here while on vacation and the staff was SUPER friendly and tipped us off on a few things to do while in town on vacation. Really good food for REALLY good prices. Much better option of you're on vacation on a budget than some of the other choices in town. They only take cash but they have an ATM on site. Just know that if you need to use it expect a $2.75 surcharge from the ATM owners. Besides not accepting credit cards this place is AWESOME. 100% recommend stopping here for good food and local hospitality if you're visiting Carolina Beach. We will be back next time we're on vacation.”

“This is the BEST Thai food that I’ve had anywhere in North Carolina. Everything is fresh and done well. The staff are friendly and offer great recommendations for those unfamiliar with Thai food. I highly recommend the pineapple fried rice and the Tom yum soup. The restaurant is small but there is outside seating too. I love, love, love this place so add it to your list of restaurants to visit in CB!”

“We were looking for an easy, laid back atmosphere to just hang out and have a bite to eat, but holy mackerel, the prices are outrageous! This is touted as a 'beach bar' in Carolina Beach, but they have Hilton Head pricing. The service was slow, at best. We saw some of the food come out and, in all honesty, it looked very pretty, but we weren't impressed. We got nachos...for about $12 there was only lettuce, cheese sauce (all pooled at the bottom and cool) about 8 kernels of corn and a few beans. No meat at all. Our daughters got the 'mac and cheese' bites...$8. These come frozen from Costco... add a couple of beers for a total of almost $50. Great concept, though...the space is nice.”

“I visited HopLite for lunch and was pleasantly surprised to find that the service in the middle of the day was as good as you would expect it to be in the evening, when they have the most business. I got a beer and the Banger n Mash, which for those who don't know is an Irish staple. This was the best bowl of Bangers n Mash I've ever had and it was a decent and filling portion size. It came with two sausages, peppers, mashed potatoes and brown gravy. The environment is very much a traditional pub but not in q dirty or load way that would deter me from bringing my family. The service was wonderful and prompt, I even bought one of their T-shirts.”

“Absolutely fabulous experience! We’ve visited close to 100 seafood restaurants up and down the east cost of the U.S. and Michael’s definitely made the top 5! We called ahead of time to ask if they took reservations, which they do not. However, the host told us they offer a shuttle service which gives you priority seating when you arrive. Bob picked us up promptly at the time we requested. He provided us with fabulous conversation and was very knowledgeable about the area, as well as the menu. He even had menus available for us to review on the way to the restaurant. When we arrived, our wait was less than 10 minutes. They had a beautiful outdoor area where, James, provided us with top notch service! He was very genuine and knowledgeable about the menu. We started with crab cakes and crab dip which was absolutely delectable! The atmosphere and service was all around fabulous. James and Bob truly made our experience one to remember. Highly recommended!”
