“My son and I love, love, LOVE this place. We have eaten here several times. The food is always fresh and everything we have ordered has been delicious. The portions are very generous for a great price. The staff is consistently friendly and efficient. The restaurant is always spotless. “We are not big fans of calabash style seafood but theirs was excellent. The large sea scallops and shrimp were fresh and breaded on site. Fried perfectly and very tasty. French fries were great and the crab dip was awesome. Service was great once we got seated but we had to wait over an hour even though we were told that it would be 30 minutes when we got there. Had two small children in our party and they handled the wait better than you would expect. The adults, including myself, were not happy. The strange thing was there were many empty tables and booths and they wouldn't seat anyone. They told us the kitchen had them on hold? Guess that means something but we couldn't understand because getting seated and being able to order drinks wouldn't put a burden on the kitchen at all. Having said that I would still definitely go back to Jack Mackerels again and recommend it highly.”

“Surprisingly good for a roadside burger stand. It was better than what I expected at least. They have a decent selection of toppings with which they are quite generous. The fries are thick and well seasoned. The onion rings are a bit greasy but still tasty. I'd definitely eat here again. They also serve icecream, however, sadly, their machine was down so we didn't get to try it.”

“My family and I went to Granny's for breakfast. While the building, itself, is small it is clean and homey. We arrived fairly early and were seated inside immediately, there is an additional dinning area outside. Granny's does get busy and at times there may be a brief wait for seating but I attribute this to it's popularity due to the great food they serve and their awesome staff. I would highly recommend Granny's. I will definitely be a repeat customer.”

“The Hide Tide lounge is on the North End of the island on the Carolina Beach Pier. They just finished the new tiki bar that’s included in my pictures. You can go to the third floor bar for some amazing views and visit Patty who’s the best bar tender in the area. The pier is still being rebuilt but you can go on it to the end. Even if you don’t want a beer or mixed drinks the views are amazing. You can sit in the sun or use the covered porch for shade.”

“This place is neat. It was raining when we went so there were no takers on the dog friendly patio (they’ll sell you a cheap ($1?) hot dog with a bowl of water for your furry kid) so I can see the appeal for dog owners. There’s not much seating inside (10 seats?) as the place itself is very small but the patio is decent size but mostly uncovered. The dogs ($3.25/ea)and fries were great. It appeared to me that you can order any dog on the menu and add as many other toppings as you’d like. I ordered the bacon dog and added chili and things at no additional cost. Kids meals ($4.75?) include drinks and are served on complimentary frisbees. Very tasty and pricing is reasonable”

“My six year old daughter and I ate here during our week long vacation and it was amazing. I highly suggest the tacos! The beef tacos are incredible and the lobster tacos are even more incredible. “Absolutely the best pizza I've ever had in a while. If you love thin crust with heaps of flavor, come here. The storefront isn't the most impressive sight but the food inside is absolutely fantastic. We had the Margarita Pizza and every bite was full of mouth watering spices and ingredients. It was ready and made to-order within minutes from scratch to my plate. Highly recommend any of their specialty pizzas, but they do have a "build-your-own-pizza" option, as well as pizza by the slice readily available.”
