“Run don’t walk to Carriage House Sundries! We enjoyed everything from the moment we walked in the door. We were greeted by a lovely hostess who sat us promptly and our server, Daniel was awesome. Our drinks and food arrived quickly and they were exceptional! I had the Curry Chicken Salad and my husband had the Egg BLT with fries. So good! One thing you absolutely must do is save room for dessert because the brownie with ice cream is amazing! The decor was so beautiful and they have an extensive wine and cigar shop. We live about an hour away and it was so worth the drive. We will definitely be back. Thank you for a lovely relaxing, non-rushed, wonderful brunch! If I could give 50 stars I would!”

“I was born in Marion, and always feel such a strong sense of place when I come here. The view from the parking lot is breathtaking. Mt Mitchell and the Black Mountains almost seem to be staring down at you as you tee off on the first hole. Wonderful course, wonderful design. If you're hitting your driver and short irons well, you can eat this course up. Staff is kind and professional. Pretty no frills, which is good. Gonna be cooler this high up, so be prepared. They also get a lot of rain, and the course can get quite spongey. If you like this course, try Black Mountain and Maggie Valley as well.”

“Really enjoyed my gluten-free Hawaiian pizza. I have never come across a chewy, doughy gluten-free crust like that. I'm curious if they make it in-house. Wife really liked her regular crust veggie pie. Did not care for the wings, though.”

“Recommended by Mike Hopkins at the Terrell House B&B, we were not disappointed. Service was fast and friendly. Nice selection of beers and wines and a wide variety of menu options to choose from. The meal started with a fresh tossed salad, all the dressings are house made. I liked the toasted sesame. Warm crusty French baggett and warm pretzel bread with whipped butter was served on the side. We both had the seafood broil with fresh Grouper, Scallops and Shrimp. It was perfectly done, accompanied by steamed seasonal vegetables and rice. My husband said these were some of the best scallops he's ever had. Dessert was homemade cherry cobbler and ice cream. OMG! As good as mama's. This place is a rare gem.”

“Today we drove to Burnsville, NC for the first time and will definitely be back. We met the guys that own Nu Wray Inn and they are wonderful. Very warm, inviting and easy to talk to. They are cousins and from Western NC so they know the region well. The Inn is impressive to say the least. 1833, it's hard to believe it's still so beautiful. You can tell they love what they do. The place is immaculately clean. We are looking forward to a murder mystery event there. Sounds top notch. Cant wait! Totally worth a visit especially if you love history and antiquity.”

“Early Sunday afternoon it was quite busy. Service here in the past has been lacking, but this visit, we had a server named Jose, and he did GREAT! I had Mexican Tacos They were flavorful, but not what I would consider authentic. Wife had Chile Relleno and she loved it. All in all, a good experience.”

“Fabulous experience. Came for breakfast and received a super friendly greeting. Food was typical "greasy spoon", but on the higher end. The french toast was thick and fluffy, the hash browns goody and crispy, but not over done. The server was super helpful about picking items on the menu. The portions were plentiful for the price. Also loved the pet-friendly outdoor seating since we were traveling with pups.”
