“Nice little neighborhood bar. Beer was cold, and the clam chowder was great. Service was top notch. Had the halibut and fry basket, and the wife had the fried oysters and fries. Both meals were perfect, and the fries were hot and fresh.”

“When you're hungry a place like this can be a blessing because it will definitely fill your stomach, but it might leave your taste buds wanting more. The service was fast and friendly and the food came out quickly, but everything tasted like it came out of a package and was quickly thrown on the grill. The eggs were rubbery, the sausage was Jimmy Dean quality, and while the biscuits and gravy were piled high, I've never had sausage gravy that was so devoid of sausage or flavor. It tasted like milk and flour and had a gooey consistency and really, if I'm going to blow my calorie limit for the day it better be for something tasty. I don't know if I would come back here, but it fills a niche, and for that, it's acceptable.”

“Big, clean rooms. They welcome pets, but charge extra. Also, they didn't note that we were bringing pets when we mentioned it when we made the reservations and had to tell them again when we checked in. Luckily, they weren't that booked and we got a ground floor room, because lugging all our luggage, kennels and the pets up to the 2nd or 3rd floor would have sucked. But it all worked out this time. The hotel is a bit dated and could use some freshening up. Some new paint and such could go a long way to make this a 5 star hotel.”

“Great place to stop for a drink! Dim lighting and relaxed ambiance. Amazing view of the river. Drinks were unique and well done. Nachos definitely satisfied a late night craving. Would certainly make an effort to visit again whenever in Astoria.”
