“Atmosphere was nice called 30 minutes ahead to let them know I was doing a pizza review drove an hr away got the pizza looked really good crust is just how I like it had little flop but still had good crunch but the top of the pizza was not fully cooked had very little sauce so all you tasted was crust and cheese and was nothing special about the cheese I gave it a 5.6 had high hopes since it was the highest rated pizza in Columbia,SC you can check out my review at Big Sal's Pizza Reviews on YouTube”

“I'm a recent transplant to the South and sampled half dozen pizza joints in Columbia. Nicky's in the best NYC style by far. Slices are huge, pepperoni has a nice spicy kick and the sauce complements the pie instead of overwhelming it or getting lost. I wish they carried wings. This will be my go-to pizza place.”

“Not exactly easy to find, I didn't know where it was located and it didn't stand out while trying to follow GPS. I had to park around the corner and behind the building, walk through an alley, which for a woman was not the most safe feeling option. The bar had a lot of sit down space, several pool tables, bathrooms were clean enough. They had a $1 drink special going on which was cool. Like maybe 6 ounce drinks. So decent enough.”

“Booked a table for busy parents weekend far in advance and then needed to change the time AND number of guests. They were great! Let me add 3 people and change our time. Food was excellent. Everyone ordered something different and everyone raved about their dinner. Husband’s shrimp and grits were the best he’s ever had (sorry, Bobby Flay) and daughter’s steak was perfectly cooked. Waitress recommended the steak special (can’t remember the exact name) and everyone who ordered it loved the choice. I would definitely go back on next visit to Columbia.”

“Recommended by my dear daughter while in town. In the heart of 5 Points, this cool Mexican dive is pretty good. Our server was on her first day waiting tables and she did a very good job. Started with the Nacho plate and a malt-forward IPA. Beer was good, not great but nachos were fantastic. We then dined on quesadillas and tuna poke bowl. Both very good. I then finished with a hop-forward IPA and that was even better. Prices were reasonable - it was $2 taco night too so lots of students in for the quick treats. I was definitely the oldest in the restaurant but would return as the food was pretty good.”

“***EDIT: I’ve dropped them down from 5 to 2 stars because the last 4 calzones were overcooked, tough & not seasoned. Delivery in one order was supposed to be 30 minutes and it turned into much longer (over an hour). The driver let an unauthorized coworker sign my credit card receipt. They have a Mac & Cheese calzone that is to die for!!! It’s always fresh, hot and made to order the way I like it. I also appreciate their bolo Tuesday’s. You won’t be sorry going here :)”

“Best Sweet Potato Fries EVER ! Burger was good, the Fried Green Tomato BLT was excellent, what a concept to add Fried Green Tomato and Pimento Cheese. Completely different than other sandwiches. “I have one rule when I travel, whether on business or for pleasure: I don't eat at any restaurant that I can't eat at back at home. Mr. Friendly's fit the bill, because there isn't one back at home in Ohio, as it is truly a one of a kind place. I went there with two business associates while in Columbia on business. We ordered the salmon croquets as an appetizer, and I ordered the Carolina catfish with fried green tomatoes as my entry. Both were very delicious. I have never liked fried green tomatoes before going to Mr. Friendly's, but theirs was unforgettable. The salmon and the catfish were cooked to perfection, and very tasty. Obviously, Mr. Friendly's has a very artistic and skillful chef working in the kitchen. In a word, this place is awesome! A nice touch is the art hanging on the walls, all of which is for sale.”

Located at the top of the USC Capstone Building this is a great experience when visiting USC or Columbia.
