“This is one of our favorite spots in town and it probably has some of the best coffee in Rapid. Service is hit or miss at times. I usually have the apple sausage hash but without the apples (I am allergic and usually isn't a problem to have them removed), but when it's a busy morning, we will be told that it's all pre-mixed, which is a bummer. I understand that there are people who will lie about allergies just because they don't like a food, but I was really upset to get a fruit cup filled with apple chunks as a side for the wrap I got after sharing the allergy. Like I said, it doesn't happen often, but sometimes the service is hit or miss. Food and drink are good, I just wish it was consistent”

“Great food, cozy atmosphere, staff feels like family. Food is hot & fresh, full of flavor. Can add spicy flavor- if you like. Great addition to Rapid City- Ron has had restaurants in town for over 30 years!!”

“Overall, this coffee establishment is quite refreshing and notable. There are several food options available to choose from, but the ham & cheese croissant is the most reputable accompaniment for my cup of caffeine goodness. The coffee packs a decent punch and leaves you refreshed and with just the right amount of pick-me-up to catapult you through the remainder of the day. The drive-thru is located way back towards the fence and snakes back around the building. The location is aptly situated, as it is not highly congested or packed with traffic. The staff are friendly, courteous, and welcoming every visit, and they ensure that you are made aware of the fact that the extra shots are actually double shots.”

“Best food here and the pastries are not only absolutely delicious but each one looks like art. Decent priced and a quiet little hidden gem.”

“Absolutely fantastic! The food and prices were absolutely amazing. The service was fast, friendly and knowledgeable. I ordered a garden quiche, a spinach wrap veggie sandwich with Swiss cheese, and a strawberry banana smoothie. The garden quiche was delicious, it was homemade and not at all greasy. You could just tell the ingredients were fresh.”

“A wonderful spot for breakfast and coffee. Everything is amazing. The breakfasts are fun and funky and the coffee is delicious! A comfortable, industrial atmosphere that welcomes everyone! W So good, we came back a 2nd time before we left town!”

“Always timely service even when it's super busy! Tons of gluten-free options! Also they aren't rude about super customized drinks, which is why this store is my go-to.”

“If I am ever in the area again I WILL visit again. Truly enjoyed the conversation with the owner, the story of the cafe and it's beginnings and the overall atmosphere. Hours are limited to lunch except in summer when they open for breakfast also. Local artists work displayed on the wall. A community serving business that is well worth supporting.”

“Awesome! The employees are very kind. The coffee is hot and delicious. There is no taste of burnt coffee or coffee grounds. The texture is very smooth and the taste isn't too sweet. Just the right amount. I think it is really neat how they use simmered chocolate milk instead of chocolate syrup. Definitely will come back here.”

“When you need a break from hotel coffee, Starbucks hits the spot. Rather small seating area. Plenty of natural light. Friendly vibe. Stacks of boxes blocked the entrance to the restrooms. Plenty of flies trapped in the food display made me second guessing about ordering food here.”

“Great little mom and pop hole in the wall. The biscuits and gravy are amazing. Adorable, great service, very welcoming. The portions are great for the prices. Definitely give this place a try.”

“This quaint, rustic diner-esque establishment rests right off of Main Street and nestles perfectly into the bustling downtown scene. The couple who own and operate the restaurant, David and Teresa, provide top-notch, hospitable, countryside service and the absolute best breakfast in the greater Rapid City area. The restaurant is open Tuesday through Saturday from 7 a.m to 11 a.m. There is a small gift shop area reminiscent of a Cracker Barrel and old-fashioned antique shop combined to further bolster the nostalgia and hometown feel factors. The food is seasoned perfectly, the dishes are very simple, yet pop with flavor and appeal, and the atmosphere could not be more welcoming. Many options are available for the kids, from French toast sticks to oatmeal and several others to round out the family-friendly dining experience. I highly recommend the Mud Bog, Mud Benedict, All Meat Omelet, biscuits & gravy and 2 egg breakfast. This is one of those rare small restaurants that leave you feeling phenomenal, fulfilled, and like part of the family. Such a treasure to stumble upon and one that instantly becomes a major player on the consumer food map. So, if you are looking for the best breakfast that Rapid City has to offer at a more than fair price, then you need not look beyond The Mud Hole of the Black Hills.”

“Little hometown breakfast Cafe with great home-cooked food and the staff is amazing. I'm not part of the clean your plate club, as my husband says, but my plate was cleaned and every bit wiped clean with my last piece of toast. Country fried steak is hand cut and breaded, the biscuits are light and fluffy, and the gravy is very good even though it doesn't have sausage. My husband got an everything omelet which was really good. Got the caramel roll to go for later so can't comment on it yet, except for it's huge! Oh and they have beer and mimosas!”

“I like this location because it's close to my house and the employees are very prompt and friendly. I have nothing but praise for the service. That being said, the drive thru/parking lot is the worst that I've ever been through. The lot is about half the size that it should be for the volume of traffic that goes through it at any given day (most times the line is out into the street) and the drive thru itself is important narrow for anybody in a pickup.”

“I LOVE fresh roast coffee ☕️. The franchise has been around 25 years. This will be my first time trying this awesome brew. I highly recommend this place.”

“No matter the location, no matter the time of year, Scooter's always comes through in such a big way. The Carmelicious is my favorite drink and it seems to get better with each one that I order. The staff is always courteous, attentive, and vivacious. The energy exemplified by the staff matches that of the punch that the coffee delivers. Though they tend to be a bit more expensive than much of the competition, the quality of the products offered are well worth the elevated prices. Not only does the coffee make each experience enjoyable, the staff truly round out the overall atmosphere and enjoyment factor.”

“the mine went further back than we thought. fun experience the kids enjoyed it. they have an old mining cart that you can sit in for photos inside the mine. tour guide gave great facts about the mine the entire tour. if someone needs to have a wheelchair it's easy to push through the mine as well.”

“On a trip of 10 days to several states, many towns, and a few cities, this was my favorite burger and fries. And ice cream. Take time to appreciate the setting from scenes in North by Northwest. It puts you right there. The food options here are plentiful and fresh. I had no problems needing gluten free. Don't pass up on dessert. The ice cream is so good. We got the vanilla (original recipe brought over from France by Thomas Jefferson). It's so buttery! Servings aren't stingy so you may want to consider sharing.”

“We came for an early lunch after a morning in the Badlands. The staff are super friendly and despite being fairly busy, everything came out very quickly. The loaded oles are a must for anyone who loves potatoes and nachos. We all got different cuts of beef: the cowboy, the rib eye, the t-bone, and the NY strip. All were cooked perfectly. We also each got a different side so we could taste everything. The mashed potatoes with brown gravy was heavenly. The french fries and tater totes were honestly also really delicious. I'm a huge supporter of local businesses and was happy to find such a little gem here. Definitely recommend stopping here if you're in the area.”
