“I love going to this one at Kesslers’s the girl that works there knows my order and gets it out quick”

“The coffee I'm having now is excellent. The location is perfect, the interior is beautiful. So why the three stars? Believe me, I would put it down to one star because of the strange staff member, who works in this coffee house and doesn't know what a Cappuccino is. She also doesn't know what a "Malted Mocha" is, an item that caught my attention on their menu. It began when I walked up to the counter, looking up at their menu and said to the girl "can you tell me more about the Malted Mocha, what's in it?" "The malted what? She said. She then beckoned her coworker, who simply said "oh it's sweeter than a regular Mocha." The response didn't exactly satisfy my curiosity, however I moved on. I noticed no cappuccinos listed on their menu. Logically I thought, I'm in an established that makes fresh brewed coffee - so why not ask if they make them. To the same person, "do you have Cappuccinos?" She looked at me like I was an alian "Cappuccinos! what's that?" I then said, "you work in a coffee establishment and you don't know what a cappuccino is?" "I'm new here" I then asked, "can you please ask your friend if I can get a cappuccino?" I realize employees are difficult to come by these days but, this one is up in the clouds. Yes she is young, but compared to the rest of the staff here, she's not on the ball. I hope she learns the business and makes a fortune in whatever she likes one day. To be fair to Caribou, and the girl who knew what she was doing, my cappuccino turned out excellent. The establishment itself is very nice inside, a beautiful build out. They have a nice product line to choose from. I will come again despite my three stars, and likely raise them.”

“Such a great atmosphere! From coffee and lunch to beer and mimosas they have something for everyone! Highly recommend!”

“Love love love this place! The salad bar was fresh and well stocked. The coffee drink was not the over flavored, over sugared drink that is so common at small town cafes, it was a quality drink. They have a gluten free pizza crust which did not disappoint. Love the Wessington Springs community and this store is a wonderful addition.”

“What a gem in the little town of White Lake. We love finding places like this when we travel. Searched Google maps, read the reviews & decided to stop. We were not disappointed. The food was great & server was extremely nice. We enjoyed visiting with some of the locals & learning a bit about their small town. So glad we stopped here!”

“The bad: - Convenient location once you find it. There were no big signs on the building that gave any indication of a restaurant so I almost pulled out. There was, however a little sign on the front door. I did, however see a "Ditty's" sign up on the tall interstate sign when I was leaving. - The parking lot is in terrible shape and poorly lit. - I'm not terribly picky when it comes to cleanliness, but despite only 1 table being occupied, most of the empty tables needed a cleaning. I had to request a cleaning of one of the booths. - I stopped here primarily due to the fact that reviews stated the breakfast was served all day. However, the single-page little menu said nothing about the availability of breakfast. The OK: - The food. It was just OK. Ordered a cheddar bacon cheeseburger. The burger patties were just some run of the mill frozen patties. The bacon was cooked nicely. The cheese was obviously thrown on while putting the burger together is was not melted at all. The Good: - Waitress was very nice and pretty attentive despite the fact that she was there by herself and running the tables and the bar. She was running to keep up once 4 other small groups came in after I sat down. - Onion rings were very good. I might give them a shot if I come through during breakfast hours next time but I certainly wouldn't go out of my way to stop here. The 5 star reviews certainly fooled me.”

“This clean and inviting store served as a much needed rest break for our family as we travelled north on 83 towards ND. We were served delicious hand-made drinks including a rich carmel latte and a refreshing Bing cherry coolatta. The staff and patrons were super friendly.”

“Had 2 places we were going to try this morning and both were unexpectedly closed. Took a chance on this little place after hearing about it, yesterday. It was cozy inside with a fireplace and several seating options. We split a scrambler bowl and a decaf Mountain Fog. The bowl (4 eggs, sausage, cheddar, and spinach) was a good idea. Unfortunately, there was not enough sausage or spinach ($1.00 extra) to keep it interesting. The spicy Mayo was a good choice. I had never tried that before and liked the idea of it on eggs. The Mountain Fog was delicious. Interesting decor. My only complaint about the atmosphere is that in such a cozy, comfortable hideaway, there would be such dark and disturbing images on the walls. The images of people falling into Hell, or of Alice(?) carrying a severed head, were completely incongruous with the simple Country vibe present in the rest of the Bistro.”

“The breakfast was great! I got a breakfast croissant and hubby got biscuits and gravy with sausage. The sausage patties are hand formed. The gravy is made from scratch. It was all just a great home cooked meal. If you have to wait for a table...it is well worth it. I don't go around saying that cause I hate waiting. Go there! You won't regret it!”

“Jacob's is a sweet gem in Deadwood! The sophisticated rustic decor is on point. The cocktails are fantastic! The food was solid. I ordered the Buck Yeah with very high expectations. Sounded so good but fell a little short for me. Food was very good. Just not the best I've ever had. The only reason for the 4 stars. Everything else was wonderful.”

“This is one of our favorite spots in town and it probably has some of the best coffee in Rapid. Service is hit or miss at times. I usually have the apple sausage hash but without the apples (I am allergic and usually isn't a problem to have them removed), but when it's a busy morning, we will be told that it's all pre-mixed, which is a bummer. I understand that there are people who will lie about allergies just because they don't like a food, but I was really upset to get a fruit cup filled with apple chunks as a side for the wrap I got after sharing the allergy. Like I said, it doesn't happen often, but sometimes the service is hit or miss. Food and drink are good, I just wish it was consistent”

“Great local restaurant. Stopped here for breakfast. Good food and service. Fair pricing. If traveling on I90 in South Dakota try to make this place your food stop.”

“I stayed here for two weeks while finding a place to live. The room I was in was tiny but perfect for my needs and at a price you can't beat. I especially loved the shower! The pressure from the nozzle was amazing. The location was just right. I was far enough away from the tourist district and all the foot traffic but close enough to walk to any place I needed to go. During my stay I found the staff to be pleasant and accommodating. The friendliness of the front desk staff and the house keeper gave me a feeling of home and belonging. They were extremely helpful whenever I had questions. The restaurant on the property doesn't have the best selection of food but I was extremely happy with the grilled chicken salad they serve. This was one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had.”

“What a great little place!! Everything we tried here was fantastic! We had several sweet roll breakfast bombs and two huge cinnamon rolls. All freshly baked and delicious. Great coffee, both iced and hot. Most notable, aside from the excellent food, was the incredible service. The owner was so welcoming and friendly, and went out of her way to make sure everything was to our liking. Make sure to stop here for breakfast during a trip to deadwood.”

“Overall, this coffee establishment is quite refreshing and notable. There are several food options available to choose from, but the ham & cheese croissant is the most reputable accompaniment for my cup of caffeine goodness. The coffee packs a decent punch and leaves you refreshed and with just the right amount of pick-me-up to catapult you through the remainder of the day. The drive-thru is located way back towards the fence and snakes back around the building. The location is aptly situated, as it is not highly congested or packed with traffic. The staff are friendly, courteous, and welcoming every visit, and they ensure that you are made aware of the fact that the extra shots are actually double shots.”

“Absolutely fantastic! The food and prices were absolutely amazing. The service was fast, friendly and knowledgeable. I ordered a garden quiche, a spinach wrap veggie sandwich with Swiss cheese, and a strawberry banana smoothie. The garden quiche was delicious, it was homemade and not at all greasy. You could just tell the ingredients were fresh.”

“So we were out walking this morning and decided to stop by Lotus Up and have a drink. My partner had a berry smoothie and I had a breve. Both drinks were very tasty and served quick. If you want a really good espresso drink, they still use a real machine! No super autos here! The coffee has a nice flavor, so go and enjoy! They have a cool view of the mine from the outside deck too.”

“If I am ever in the area again I WILL visit again. Truly enjoyed the conversation with the owner, the story of the cafe and it's beginnings and the overall atmosphere. Hours are limited to lunch except in summer when they open for breakfast also. Local artists work displayed on the wall. A community serving business that is well worth supporting.”

“Awesome! The employees are very kind. The coffee is hot and delicious. There is no taste of burnt coffee or coffee grounds. The texture is very smooth and the taste isn't too sweet. Just the right amount. I think it is really neat how they use simmered chocolate milk instead of chocolate syrup. Definitely will come back here.”

“When you need a break from hotel coffee, Starbucks hits the spot. Rather small seating area. Plenty of natural light. Friendly vibe. Stacks of boxes blocked the entrance to the restrooms. Plenty of flies trapped in the food display made me second guessing about ordering food here.”

“If you get a smoothie, make sure the girl spins the blender some extra. I had chunks of ice in mine a couple times. A little pricey if you're poor, like me. But great product! Worth it. And the staff is friendly and kind.”

“I like strong, strong coffee. I can get a 4 its still not strong enough. I'm convinced I'm charged for the extra shots, but they are not received. I am used to a big city with an abundance of artisan, cuban, any region, pick your bean and they'll roast them up and put your name on it ....the options are endless. I didnt realize how much I missed it until that rant. Sorry! But I guess I should say thank you for pushing me to learn how to make espresso and how your life can be changed by a milk frother. I'm my own barista now and it's lovely”
