“This is a great little brewery/winery in Salado! We frequently visit here and Barrow (within walking distance) on the evenings and weekends. We love the free glass that you get when you do a beer or wine flight - and always bring visiting friends/family here to experience it. They have a large selection of beer on tap and wine to choose from to build flights, and often have live music. They are pet friendly also, which is a big plus for us!”

“My husband, a native Texan, and I stopped by La Familia to thank them for their provision of food to the first responders to the Salado tornado. They were closed several days feeding these heroes. Today, it was business as usual and we got their special, a giant burrito. It was the absolute BEST burrito either one of us have ever had, and we’re no spring chickens! It was huge and packed full of seasoned meat, rice, beans and fresh vegetables. Recommend everyone stop by and thank them for supporting the clean-up efforts and grab yourself a burrito!!”

“We have been to Rio Salado twice. Cute decor and very clean. Both times we had very friendly service all around. The chips, salsa, and queso are wonderful!! We also got a very generous portion of guacamole. The tacos were a bit bland and rice needs some flavor. I’d prefer chicken breast for the fajitas but loved the veggies. Overall we had positive experiences each time and know they’ll improve in those areas over time. Happy to have them in Salado!”

“This place was delicious! The service was slow tonight it took awhile for everything to come out. You could tell servers were rushing around getting things done. However the food was great. I had the chicken fried steak and it was AMAZING!! My husband had the pork chops and they were delicious. Both our main meals were on point, j would even go as far as saying that chicken fried steak is the best I have had. The Chile macaroni was a total miss, it didnt have any flavor whatsoever. We had desert as well the wedding cake and it was so good. Great place nice interesting atmosphere but most of all delicious food!! I would say that during dinner time this isn't very family friendly. The rooms are small and echo and I can imagine having kids would be a pain. I do plan to come back!!”
