La Tapatia Mexican Cafe

Let me start out saying that Mexican and Tex Mex food is dear to my heart. This comes from highly experienced connisuers of Mexican food.

Tonight was my second visit to this new location near our neighborhood in Sugar Land.
This is a chain local to Houston, but, felt more like a one off with the Mexican Adobe look inside. The bar area is very nice.

The red sauce has a real and slightly hot salsa flavor. My wife loved the green salsa.
The chili con queso was decent, not bland like many others are.

Both visits the chicken fajitas were fantastic. The slightly hot spice is good.
My Charro beans were flavorful and the flour tortillas were warm, soft and fresh.
My wife had the shrimp enchiladas and fajita beef burritos. There was plenty of shrimp in her enchiladas. The fajita beef burrito was huge. You can customize what ingredients you desire inside the burrito.
Flavor wise I give 2 thumbs up.
My wife was thrilled with the shrimp enchiladas. And same with the fajita beef burrito.

La Tapatia is a Pepsi place, which is a bummer. But, they smartly offer mexican Cokes to save the day. Sorry, have not tried the margaritas as of yet.
Service was very good. The food came out quite quickly. Everyone was friendly.
So far, a top rating from us!

First place I have been to in years that I don’t have a single complain about.
The place was beautiful, clean, and the staff was very friendly.
Iridian was our server and she was amazing. Very sweet, quick and suggestive.
The street tacos were phenomenal along with the fajitas and margaritas.
I got a mango and strawberry frozen margarita and it was delicious and strong.
I would recommend this to anyone who either lives near Sugar Land or is looking for a great place to eat.
I will definitely be dining here again!!

Absolutely amazing! The street tacos were delicious, as were the chicken fajitas. The guacamole was very fresh and tasted great. The chips and salsa are some of the best in Sugar Land. As someone who frequents Tex-Mex spots all over, I’d give this 10 stars if I could. We will definitely be back!

First time visiting here. EXCELLENT street tacos, great service, and nice Spanish decorations. Others at my table enjoyed the guacamole, chips, homemade flour tortillas, and queso.

Margaritas were very good - salsa was delicious as well as the food. Maritza was our server and she was awesome. Established was clean and well spaced. Next time will try the bar area. Will return
