“I passed by this place for about a year. I thought it was some form of metaphysical oriented business, and I was wrong. About a week ago, I walked in the door because another local denizen advised me to check it out. Moving in from the midday Spring sun, a veritable visual cacophony assaulted my senses. A cornucopia of gaming gear and supplies lines almost every nook and cranny. Any spot without merchandise is either in-store play area or suffused with fantasy themed murals. Life-size models of a goblin stand guard strangely remind me of foo dogs. As best I could ascertain, the public area of this business consists of five rooms. The room immediately through the door contains merchandise and a checkout counter. Two of the other rooms rooms have in-store play areas as a central element. The fourth, medieval fantasy themed, room contains specialized furniture for a tabletop role-playing game. This business has a single public bathroom. Though I'm a little dated to be an expert anymore, the prices seem reasonably low--reminiscent of Greenland Cards & Comics in Lufkin back in the 90's. Drinks and snacks available.”

The best authentic and super fresh Mexican food I have ever eaten. My husband and I will be back over and over again. Friendly atmosphere too. Well worth your time to visit. “I always stop here to stretch my legs, get a snack, and use the restroom. For the amount of people that stop here, it has always been clean! Although the gas station is next to the highway, I’m always surprised at the prices of items. My mother and I bought a few things and we were shocked that it was all under $5! And when traveling alone, I feel safe stopping here. Customer service on the gas station side could be better but it’s never a negative interaction.”

“Great food. Baked potato casserole was amazing and the turkey was heavenly! My daughter had some brisket and she now wants that for dinner every day! The spicy Mac and cheese is a good twist on a classic favorite. Love that they bring out warm hand towels after for you to clean up with! Our waitress was great! The inside is very loud and very dimly lit, so people with poor eyesight (like me) be careful! They don't have an actual menu, the server just tells you what they - KISS method, they don't have a wide variety but what they do have they make damn well! Worth the wait and the cobbler is to die for!”

“Just ate at this place. Must say the meat in the puffy taco was amazing. The beans and rice were seasoned well. The fajita portion was a little small but probably was the lunch portion. Great lemonade and their water is clear. I tell you drinks are just as important as good. Hot sauce has a great fresh taste and the tortillas were not too thick or thin. Overall really great food.”

“We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to The Tackle Box. We started at our meal with the fried green tomatoes and fried mushrooms. They were fantastic they bring out all the sauces and sides that you need. We have the fish and shrimp and the shrimp was absolutely fantastic. They were huge. The staff is fantastic. Everybody goes out of their way to make sure that you have everything you need and is ready to accommodate any needs that you have. Dinner4two not including tip $43. What a deal. Can't wait to go back!”
