I had a wild experience here. The food was absolutely delicious and the drinks were great. The staff was super professional and friendly. Definitely a 5 star.
Tickets to this little hidden jewel have to be purchased in advance, but the food is out of this world. A punk rock kaiseki experience unlike any other. Chef Yoshi is a mad scientist and the results are surprising and always delicious.
Outstanding location for delicious japanese food. Visited near twelve, it was not full. The service here is better than most. Prices were fair for the quality of the food. Ambience is similar to Fresno's scene.
I usually leave detailed reviews. This is my review:
The best meal and dining experience in Austin. Be lucky enough to go here.
This 12 seat omakase style restaurant is a one of a kind experience in Austin. The 20+ dishes you'll eat are delicately crafted and delicious, and will include the best sushi you'll have in the city, if not your life. The chefs are knowledgeable and fun chat with and watch, and the rest of the staff are extremely attentive and courteous. The attached bar also has outstanding drinks and service (I especially like the sesame vanilla old fashioned).
Otoko is well worth the price if you're willing to pay it.
