I loved staying at the Shoreham Inn, the owner (Elizabeth) greeted me and my family warmly and showed us to our room right away (Lake Champlain room) which was immaculatey clean and nicely decorated. Dinner was enjoyed outside on the porch, while waiting for dinner I could walk around the property a bit and it's kept very nice, the lights around the deck mixed with the setting sun made for a very relaxing evening ( try the curry! It's delicious). The night's sleep was quiet and peaceful and the beds are extremely comfortable. Although, the lights outside of my room shone through the window atop of the door and made our room a bit brighter than expected, it didn't bother me but maybe bring some sleeping masks if you're sensitive to light while sleeping. Breakfast is reasonably timed in the morning, and was very delicious. Elizabeth was expecting us and had my family set up right away next to the window and waited on us for breakfast and drinks ( so nice!) The breakfast options change from time to time but I had the blueberry pancakes with sausage links and they were really good. Overall, everything was so well thought out and the details that the owners thought out and the effort they put into the inn is incredible. If you have the chance to eat or stay at Shoreham, please do!

Andrew and Elizabeth Done were awesome hosts. We have not really been bed and breakfast kind of people, mostly Airbnbs and have always been a little apprehensive of the level of interaction that comes with staying in someone's home. Andrew and Elizabeth do stay on the 3rd floor but for us they were awesome hosts and provided the perfect experience with what we found to be just right amount of interaction. Elizabeth met us right away and showed us around the Inn. It really has a great feeling and the room was private with it's own bathroom. The room was clean and smelled as such, it did not smell like someone was masking 200 years of guest stays, musty or damp, it was a clean room and the shower had great water pressure along with enough hot water for the 3 of us. The Champlain Room that we had was in the front of the house and was very comfortable. The beds gave us a great sleep. I was there with my wife and daughter and the room was plenty big for us. We had a king bed and then a proper day bed to accommodate the 3 of us. We made a point to be there on an evening the pub was open and the food did not disappoint. The Inn is a perfect place to relax or take in the country side. We stayed here to be able to visit Fort Ticonderoga and along with the ferry ride from New York to Vermont The Shoreham Inn made for a memorable part of our trip. One last observation, I felt a real connection to the history of this part of America by letting us enter our stay into the guest register. As you can see from the picture the one that is open to use is dated back to 1916, over a 100 years, to have our name added to the list of guests felt as an honor.
Thank you Elizabeth and Andrew for providing such a great experience, you and your staff are awesome!

I recently stayed for one night and was very pleased. We were met with enthusiasm by innkeeper Elizabeth. She was quick to answer any questions we had. She gave us the history of the inn which was pretty cool. When asked, she gave us recommendations of places to eat in the area. I didn't have dinner at the inn, but did have breakfast. My made to order eggs were exactly as I'd requested. There was enough variety for the average person and everything fresh. The room was quiet, adequately sized and the bed comfy. I'm giving the Shoreham a 4.5 rating. I have to take a 1/2 star away because the room would have been better if a tv had been included.

I ran the Mad River Marathon earlier in the day, and needed a place close to my family to recover. The Shoreham Inn provided the perfect retreat. I got to rest, wander the yard and read out on the deck. Later in the evening, we gathered as a family for dinner. The pub/restaurant is always a stop for us when in the area. That evening the consensus was bangers and mash got best dish, with maple pudding as the favorite dessert. The next morning I had a simple breakfast of eggs and bacon, along with a lovely chat from the innkeepers.

    Andrew and Elizabeth were great.
The room was nice. They could use, locks on the doors as that concerned me a little bit. Breakfast was very good. We stayed here to go to Fort Ticonderoga. A really country quiet environment.
There is not much to do in the immediate area, but near Ticonderoga and further into Vermont there is more.
