“Went here with my parents as part of our Vermont Vacation on August 29th 2023. It was a long ride from South Hero, VT where we stayed. However, it was very quiet and very beautiful. The views of the water are great, and one can even swim at your own risk if you want. (i didn't, but just putting it out there!) I found the sign in the front of the shrine a bit rude which said "due to this being a place of worship, proper attire is required". We didn't see anyone that enforced this, but i found it rude because some people just travel up there as peaceful tourists, and may not be religous either. Cool that there is an outdoor church. There is also buildings with a gift shop and restrooms, and a little musuem. the restrooms were very clean, which is good. the musuem was interesting as it mentioned that the french had church at that location then abandoned it. Also enjoyed the history about Samuel De Champlain, in which the Lake is named after. enjoyed the history part the most.”

“Just ate supper at North Hero House. My wife and twenty-six year old daughter literally had the best time. They had a delicious multi grain bowl and the other had a shrimp and lobster scampi too die for. I on the other hand had delicious dozen cold oysters for appetizer and for my entry.. a Pot Roast, veggies and mashed potatoes. My mother used to make this special for me. It was my birthday and the chef at North Hero House nailed. I couldn’t believe it was on the menu. Sooo delicious reminded me of when I was ten. I’m 65 today. The best chef and most amazing table service. Thanks again Jesse, Amber and Olivia.”

“Visited for the first time and couldn't decide what to try. Everything on offer was unique. I ended up buying 1 of everything just so I could sample different things. Part of me wishes they had more available behind the counter, but my wallet was happy with what they had. I've tried several pieces of candy so far and each of them far exceeded my expectations. Even some of the more out their flavors (blue cheese in dark chocolate? fruit loops in white chocolate?) ended up being absolutely delightful. It looks like they have a larger selection available to order online and I will definitely be giving them more of my business.”

“It's sorta the only option so gets lots of business. For as many employees working behind the counter, was always surprised how long it took to get our food. If you want your bagel "toasted" looks like you'll have to ask to send it through twice. Both times, it was barely done. Liked the scones although ran out of one flavor”

“The burgers and fries were delicious. We sat out back on the deck over looking beautiful lake Champlain. We got our food sooner than expected and even though it was a chilly day to be eating out there the food was hot when it arrived. Only complaint only one girl working out there and we didn’t get napkins or utensils and since the girl working down there was right out straight wiping down tables, moving tables, as well as tending the bar we got up and got our own napkins and managed the burgers and fries with our fingers. Will go back next summer when it’s warm.”

“We summer in Alburgh and own and rent cottages at Isle View Lake Cottages. This is our favorite restaurant. The atmosphere is so nice, the food it excellent and the staff are great. “Love having lunch on their deck with family and friends. The deck faces south and you look right down the lake. There is usually a beautiful breeze off the lake. We’ve had several lunches here and enjoyed them all. I’m a big fan of the BLT with avocado. Great food selection, excellent atmosphere, friendly staff, it’s a perfect place for a great lunch.”

“They appear to have a little bit of everything. It's a gift shop / hardware store / kitchen store / truck stop/ deli. I had the Laker Sandwich, which was quite good: roast beef and turkey on a home-baked roll. $9 with tax. Comes with tortilla chips. There's a place across the highway where you can sit and watch the goings on at the marina. Very scenic.”

“This place was phenomenal! We gave this place a chance not knowing what to expect, but WOW! I'd give this place 100 stars.the dumplings were awesome. The service was great and not badly priced. The maple duck entree was to die for. Extremely well prepared and cooked. I got some people who dont like duck to love duck with the owners recipe. Very well done. “I can not even comment on the food as we did not have the opportunity to eat. I went with my family last Thursday. We had 7pm reservations for a party of 4. We arrived at 6:59 and were told there would be a 15 minute wait. After following up again at 7:15 we were told it would be at least 7:30 before our table was ready. At 7:28 the hostess came out and told us that the previous customers at our table were not getting up and we would not be able to eat at the restaurant that night. THEY LITERALLY SENT US HOME. I have never been to a restaurant where we were told to go home because they could not seat a table of 4. I followed up via email that night and got no response. I sent another email this week looking for a response and got nothing back. I know options are limited in South Hero, but don't go here. Mandy followed up with me and could not have been nicer. She explained the situation and was honest about letting me know that mistakes happened and would be addressed. Really appreciated her being honest with me. Hope to try again in the future!”
