“We mostly get drinks here and it is hit or miss. There are a couple employees that make a great drink but you never know when they’re working so you take your chance. We travel around New England a lot and have gone into busier places and been more satisfied! I’m not sure who does the training at this one but they may want to spend a little more time doing it or overseeing the employees.”

“The lo mein is the best around and the prices are great for the quality and quantity you get. I get the miso soup there whenever I am sick cause it's the ultimate comfort soup. The chicken can be chewy sometimes”

“I love coming here. The driveway is a little tricky to find. Definitely worth seeking out! Great Made IN VERMONT beers and amazing barbeque! This place is very special - a hidden gem. Kate and Noah gave us exceptional service.”

“Very nice young man behind the counter young lady at register not so much. And when I used the restroom she came out of a stall and left without washing her hands.”

“We had a very nice dinner here. Service was prompt, food came out quickly and hot, portions sizes were very generous, and most importantly, everything was delicious! I had the tom yum soup with was spicy, hearty, but not heavy, followed by some drunken noodles which did not disappoint either. My wife's describes her Pad Thai as 'not overly dry, delicious, classic tasting.' Will be recommending this place to my friends.”

“We visited Hoagie's during our week long vacation (we're from Missouri). The Garlic Dots and Spicy Fried Greenbean Appetizers were an absolutely fantastic way to start things off. The pizza and sandwiches made for an even better meal! The restaurant was clean, the staff was friendly and courteous, and if we were locals, we would go back again and again! UPDATE: Since a family member had left a personal item behind, we ended up deciding to have another lunch here during our stop to retrieve it. The food was just as good! I tried the Chicken Noodle Soup that was on special for the week, and it alone warranted a return visit! If I ever make it back to Vermont, Hoagie's is at the top of my list to revisit.”

“My family's go to spot for pizza and subs. Prices are reasonable. Atmosphere is very relaxed. Once you order and pay at the counter you are called when your food is ready and then you are left to enjoy your meal for as long as you want. No one ever rushes you or tries to move you along. Very family friendly with a great pinball machine and very clean bathrooms. Can't say enough about how great the food and service is. You can call ahead for both take out and eat in so your food is pretty much waiting for you when you arrive. Love. it”

“A unique and cozy place in a small town. The food was excellent and well prepared and the presentation wasn't fussy or elaborate. The portions were large and definitely well priced. Had a a local home cooked feel to it. The service was warm and inviting both the times we visited, once during dinner and then lunch. The bartender was very knowledgeable and was able to prepare a drink that we asked for that usually trips up other bartenders and he had a good balance of having a chat with out being overly intrusive.”

“Pretty cool place for a small town. We went on a Monday and it was busy and they're was live music which is awesome. They do a lot of live music here. The food was good, we had salads and wings. It was a little slower than we expected but everything arrived. We also had a delicious Brownie Sunday for dessert.”

“Great pizza, a little confusing on how to approach counter for ordering to eat in. Went as a large group as "first timers" and weren't sure if we were to order at the counter or sit and wait to be waited upon. The prices are high, however the fries and pizza are amazingly delish. My son was charged $3 for a sprite when the other coke products were $2... Not accommodating for a group of 8+, seating was a challenge but we worked it out ourselves and moved seats and tables. Closes early for a Friday night pizza place.”

“Great place to go! I stopped and wanted a shake. No root beer float, since they were out of rootbeer. But I got a pound cake chocolate ice cream. I tried for chocolate cake shake. Oh well! Still really good.”

“Excellent food m, excellent service. The place was adorable, clean, and just a delight to spend time in. They had some gluten free options, including a delicious gluten free chocolate layer cake with creamy almond butter frosting. The owners were so so kind. I can’t wait to go back!”

“My daughter and I stopped in for soup and tea today on a raw day. As always, the food is delicious, the service is quick, as are the smiles. The prices are moderate, with good quality and quantity. We usually do take out, General Tso's Tofu is my favourite!! The dining area is always clean and so is the bathroom. I sure appreciate this. I definitely recommend Johnson's Kitchen, either eating in or taking out!!”

“The food was good and the atmosphere was as well, probably a nice place to come for a few drinks and comfort food. I'd give it 5 stars but the guy behind the bar was talking about everyone in there... not in a nice way.”

“As a vegan, I can always find fresh salad ingredients at Subway, especially in Johnson, VT. The staff is vegan-friendly, which is a joy. I order the chopped salad. I requested the Balsamic Sub Sauce on the side. Thanks to the exceptional customer skill sets of the staffer, she checked for me. The Balsamic Sub Sauce is Vegan!! And very tasty. My wish? White Beans. If white beans were a salad option, the Vegan Chopped Salad would have a protein. Always a positive salad-eating experience!! Plant-based Patti”

“Great pizza. Very interesting selection. Best of all, if they aren't open, they freeze a ton of different ones they make and they are available at the Elmore Store...which they are in. The new crust is pretty good and the cheese they use is phenomenal. We would definitely come back for more. Prices aren't bad either.”

“Great little place to stop and enjoy a calzone! Tried a deep fried one for the first time. It had great flavor! Everything seemed well priced and the staff was very nice. My only reason for 4 stars was the use of disposable plates and utensils when dining in. However, that may have been due to their needing staff; according to the 'Help Wanted' signs.”

“Great burgers and fries. With so many options, I just went for the basic cheese burger, with lettuce, tomato, onions, ketchup and mustard, you know, the classic. It was perfection on a bun. My wife got the Swiss cheese and mushroom, which was also awesome. I don't know if the grass fed beef makes a difference in taste, but these were about the best I've ever had. The French fries were the real thing, too. Nice well kept yard where the picnic tables are set up. We'll be back next year!”

“Their pizzas are gigantic and very yummy! I love their pasta dishes, especially since they come with salad and garlic bread. I can't remember the name of the waitress we had but she was amazing! Very kind and funny. We felt bad because there were 6 of us and she was by herself in the kitchen as well but she took it in stride and made sure we had everything we needed. Amazing customer service and great food!”

“Awesome food, service and the atmosphere is cozy The bread is made right there and it is some of the best I've ever had. Maple wheat is airy and crispy when it's toasted. My son had the blueberry pancakes that are loaded with fresh blueberries. My husband had his breakfast with the breakfast sausage they make themselves. Again the best I've ever had. It's mild and not super spiced which I like because it's not overpowering the rest of the food. The staff is very friendly and make you feel like a regular even if it's your first visit. We always go when we're in this area. Try it, you won't be sorry”

“Fantastic food. Excellent service. Artistically prepared. I ordered the garden salad with blackened chicken and house dressing. I was so pleased with the freshness and flavor. It tasted as if the garden that the salad was named for was just steps away from the kitchen door. Perfect.”
