“Pretty good. Had their "Worker Bee" burger, came with chips and a pickle. The burger had more of a meatball taste and it was steamed rather then grilled, but wasn't bad tasting. I'm guessing it was steamed due to putting a cover over the burger to melt the cheese. Instead of a bun they used an English Muffin, which worked better than eventually having a soggy bun due the juice running out the burger. All in all a nice place.”

“Fabulous! Balcony, soaking tub, big flat TV with easy controls, big bed, working fireplace, fridge - great accommodations. Their restaurant/food for dinner and breakfast was stellar. We (two couples) toured nearby RdV Winery (highly recommended) and were ferried to and from there by the Ashby; no driving. The staff was personable yet professional. Very first class. Will go again.”

They also offered an old world ambiance inside, beautiful private atmosphere. Upon my arrival, I was greeted and shown the dinning options. Menu decision was difficult because they have everything that we enjoy. As we waited for a artichoke dip appetizer, we were served fresh baked bread. The appetizer could easily serve two couples. Our main entrees were served quickly and our drinks were refilled promptly, we can't say enough good about a service. 5 ???? from us! Will dine again!”

“Great experience of excellent food. We sat at the Chef's counter and did Chef's choice dinner where you can watch kitchen operations and even chat with the staff at times. Wine was very and was paired with our dinner before hand as part of the Chef's choice dinner. Before dinner we experienced a wine tasting with about 24 of us which was fun. We had 6 wines that were new to us. We will be going back.”

“My friend and I, who live 90 minutes apart, wanted to meet and have coffee. We picked Old Salem Cafe because it was centrally located; neither of us had been there before. Our plan was to meet for an hour or so, drink some coffee and be on our way. I decided to bring the last of my homemade cherry cake for my friend to try. The waitress gave me a dirty look and then scolded us for bringing our own food! Now, I understand that this place makes their money by serving food and drink, so on the surface, I’m sympathetic to people bringing food to avoid buying food. But, that is not what we did. We never planned to buy food (it was 10am), I had just a small sample to share with my friend. The waitress made an assumption that was not true and was rude to us for no good reason. I ordered another cup of coffee and left a normal tip. The coffee was fine. The outside sitting area was nice. I won’t say that I will never visit this place again, but I won’t go out of my way to visit there again. I guess the waitress would have been happier if we would’ve met in a park and not purchased anything from Old Salem Cafe; maybe that is what we will do next time.”
