LU LU Craft Bar + Kitchen

Clearly the reviews are well founded, it was packed for a Tuesday night! Laina, Kelsey, Pedro, and Nathalie made sure I was in great hands from recommending the Hatch burger, to how quick the roasted carrots (absolutely amazing) came out, and creating a dinner concoction drink to fit my specific taste palate. Great food, amazing drink, but most important was the staff that made sure your experience was not missing anything!

Beautiful view of the river, and great service! Only taking off a star because the food was not good. The chicken sandwich was very dry, and breading wasnt flavored enough. Jalapeno coleslaw had no kick. The ahi tacos were bland too (no chipotle aoili!), made up of 75% essentially house salad (lettuce, tomato, yellow onion smothered in too much sour cream). It said Pico de Gallo but there was no cilantro. Maybe I'm spoiled by the taco trucks around here, but the balance of protein to veg was off. The coleslaw side was much more flavorful, but still way too much dressing.

I think I expected more because it's a craft kitchen? Nothing was cooked badly, there just isn't enough flavor. Go for the view, not the food!

Food was good but service was insanely slow. Took 20 minutes before the server even came to my table. She didn't check in much either. Food took about 25 minutes. My drink took about 15 minutes. Not sure this would be my first choice. Maybe I'll try sitting at the bar next time as it was just me.

So my search for CHICKEN AND WAFFLES has begun!!!! And so far I do have to say that LULU'S CRAFTBAR +KITCHEN, has not only stole the crown in most restaurants around Yakima and tri cities area but has elevated the standards to what HOMEMADE COOKING/RESTAURANTS should deliver not only did I feel under dressed for the occasion the STAFF was still friendly and super friendly and knowledgeable of there establishment if I could give this restaurant 10 stars I would ... So as you walk into this beautiful establishment you are met w the introduction of the family restaurant and roots of farming yes, This restaurant is a western setting w a western theme also very very clean and if your lucky enough to catch a seat by the windows to enjoy the riverview is a plus! Not the best part of my reviews the FOOD! LOL   we had started off with a appetizer called PIG CANDY 🍬  and yes it is bacon 🥓 served w brown sugar and cayenne pepper 🌶  super good combination, but as I was patiently waiting to see just how this establishment food was going to taste was thrown for a twist that you usually don't see , the manager maybe the owner not sure but who exactly he was but he also brought out our dishes with server now this right here shows me they care about the business and customer service 😉! So as the food was presented to us we could not notice just on how big the serving was.... WOW!!!!   and with one look and smell we were sold and just to double check I had asked the waitress if the chicken was hand breaded and not frozen the answer was "yes and also the breeding is all done here fresh and homemade " Now with that being said I'm attention and excitement was finally met w homemade fresh ingredients and the WAFFLEs also homemade w there own ingredients!!!! The gravy is something out of this world 🌎  w bits of onion added and nothing out of a box!!!!! The syrup was also a homemade recipe that blew my mind ..... so with is all being added up w the syrup , gravy , WAFFLEs and breading for the chicken ALL BEING homemade and produced on the spot made the dish absolutely wonderful w delicious delight my taste buds were literally happy and dancing.... A SOLID 5 OUT 5  if my Yakima people can make the trip to try out this restaurant YOU WILL NOT BE LET DOWN OR DISAPPOINTMENT!!!!  A INSTANT all time favor spot
