“Great place for brunch. I had Caprese sandwich with roasted peppers instead of tomatoes and their summer special seltzer drink (Rose Cinnamon flavor). Both were amazing”

“Really cute spot with great pastries, coffee and light breakfast fare. They have outdoor seating in front and back if you have your pup with you, as we often do on a neighborhood walk that leads us here. My only gripe is that due to their small kitchen, they serve only breakfast sandwiches and parfaits until 11am and then switch over to only their toasts, soup and salads after that (11-3pm), so your options for food are a bit limited depending on what time you get there. That said, everything is quite tasty!”

“Purchased an apple pie here. One of the best pies I've had in a long time. Looked beautiful and tasted even better. Flaky firm crust. Firm apples with just the right amount of flavoring--not too sweet. Delicious to the last bite. Ordered in advance and ready when I came to pick it up. About $30.”

“What a interesting donut style type! These donuts styles have recently become more popular and it definitely lives up the the expectation. Each bite is delicious with mouthwatering flavor. Even without the frosting on top I would probably eat the dough because of how soft and moist it is. The toppings that correlate with the different flavors are also really cool. I'd say my favorite part about this style of donut is that it's so easy to cut up and share with more people, you can also try more flavors as well easily 👍🏼”

“My mom brought me here; she is from Taiwan. This is one of the best bubble tea places that I have been to in the US. It is a larger space, so it is really nice to sit and have tea and snacks with friends. I highly recommend their taro milk tea, which is made with real taro pieces (as opposed to that shameful purple powder in other places), and their guava fruit tea which is hard to find, even at bubble tea places. There are lots of good snacks too. Try their custard cake, which is made fresh.”

“My favorite breakfast place! Huge portions for what you pay. A down home country style that always makes you feel welcome. Update: Still a great place for breakfast. Order the house made bread with your plate. It's delicious! The bakery is outstanding, I love the peanut butter cookies and cinnamon rolls. My wife said it sounds like I'm making love when I eat the cinnamon roll! We don't eat much bread so it's a treat and if I'm eating it, it has to be great.”

“My favorite coffee place on the Eastside. They roast their own beans. Mellow, but strong coffee. Pastries are nice too. Still my favorite for coffee. Just love the vibe of the place! Today it was great to see the place as busy as I've seen it in a long time. We were lucky to get a seat inside.”

“INCREDIBLE bakery!! You would never guess from the outside, I’ve driven past this place a million times but the pastries are as good if not better than Bakery Nouveau and Grand Central. The croissant was buttery and flaky, the danish was so flavorful and fresh and not soggy at all. I’m so happy we found this place!”

“NaanWa Bakery is absolutely fabulous! They have truly artisan bread and pastry freshly made with quality ingredients. I love this place and it’s our family’s weekly Friday stop to restock for the week! The magic is not just the quality ingredients, but the essence of love and dedicated effort sprinkled on the goods. This family owned business is full of deliciousness!”

“I had the plain croissant and passion fruit cheese cake, to-go. The croissant was buttery melt in your mouth delicious. The cheesecake had a nice crust and the passion fruit topping was unique in flavor. What I didn't find normal was the texture of the actual cheesecake. It almost felt like it had a gel. The restaurant was really busy, but clean and workers were helpful. If I returned to the area, I might try another bakery for cheesecake. I would definitely buy croissants here.”

“I go here almost every day for break or lunch. I have gotten to know the owner and staff very well since they opened and the kindness and love they show their guests would be enough but the food and desserts just take it to a new level. I highly recommend this place! Tell them Andrew told you to come check it out.”

“I got the heartbeat juice which you could taste all the freshest ingredients. The beats and ginger were especially lovely. The lentel soup was hearty and full of flavor. I couldn't say no to one of their homemade desserts, and let me tell you - this is the baklava you have been looking for. Thank you Joe for curing my hangover and turning my day around 🙂”

“The first feeling you get when you enter is warmth if a family home. Very quaint and welcoming. Don't have too many options for the main course but def. Good cafe food. Salsa was fresh and very earthy. The owners were welcoming and very helpful. Reminds me of road side cafes and street vendors.”

“I’ve ordered a few custom cakes from Patrick’s and they are so delicious. Even folks who don’t like cake have enjoyed it because it’s not overly sweet. I love to pop in for Mac salad and spam musubi on the road. The soups from the fridge are a tasty option to take home. When I had cancer, I loved to get the kimchi fried rice with poached eggs - it’s one of the only things from that time that is still appealing. Patrick’s baked goods are yummy too. It’s a great part of our community.”

“Great service, just super slow. The poor POS person is scurrying around while one person makes drinks, all on a busy weekend morning. Otherwise, it's a great location with an amazing interior style. Love it. And the coffee is good too. Could go for the prices listed on the pastries so I know what I'm paying.”

“The chocolate cake and the ice cream are so so. I feel for a small lava cake and a single scoop of ice cream + the vibes, it’s certainly the right price to pay for a tourist or instagram worthy evening. It’s a busy area, and tables are long shared ones inside with some outdoor seating as well.”

“This new bakery/cafe is amazing! I’ve been here 4 times in the last month. The pricing is affordable (~$11 for a toast or sandwich) and they always seem to have new savory, sweet and gluten free baked goods to try. There’s easy street parking available out front and it’s walking distance to other bars and restaurants in Uptown.”

“I love the Kitanda bread and always stop in when I’m visiting Seattle. And now it’s even easier with the new Link stations. I’m not gluten free, but when I go with friends that are I always suggest here! Sit in the window and people watch.”

“A-1 bagel zone. First of all, I would like to state they have warm and toasty pumpernickle bagels with jalapeno cream cheese which is dream team - match made in heaven. Secondly, I would like to state that I recieved excellent service with a smile. I happen to be an enthusiastic wildchild around bagels becuase they are fantastic. Some folks don't know now to match the bagel excitement, but my girl Audrey behind the counter met me with the same joy and warmth you might find in a fresh out the oven bagle. And concider this: I walked into some building with no bagels and came out with bagels. Thats a pretty sweet deal if you ask me. I took my baked goods and immediately ate one right in my car on the side of the road like a barbarian. That's how yummy they are. 5/5 would stuff my face with these bagels again.”

“Thrilled!! to know this place is still here after all these years. Used to visit this shop decades ago when I lived in Redmond. Now upon returning, it is wonderful to recapture and renew a connection to all the good people, good treats, and specialty items here. This visit we bought shortbread wedges from the bakery case. And of course these tender beauties put to shame the national brand in its plaid box. So light, scrumptious, perfect! Also got some other treats, including a plum tart and a jam tart. They've got a variety of what I would call hand pies or pasties, with meat filling, and they are also good. What really attracts me, personally, is the friendly service and the assortment of hard to find items for my baking needs. Golden syrup, custard powder, lady finger cookies, all sorts of teas, everything I don't want to be without. Top it off with gorgeous gift wares of cups, mugs, trays, tiered cookie serving pieces, and more. Glorious bit of happiness here, from old memories to the opportunity to make new.”
