Blue Heron Bistro

Beautiful restruant on Lopez Island with fresh, local ingredients and excellent service. We had a delicious heirloom salad. burger with fries and a gooey skillet cookie. Friendly and fast service. We sat on the deck and has a peekaboo view of the ocean.

Though the Blue Heron Bistro has only just opened up, their kitchen is doing great things already. The dishes we had there were delicious and the location is fantastic. They are trying out different dishes right now so their menu might change over the next several weeks or months. Since it's been only a matter of days since they have been fully opened, they are still in the process of familiarizing new staff. The owners seem to be very engaged in this process and their staff is very diligent, so I'm sure they will sort out their processes in short order.

If you decide to go, consider going for lunch or arriving early for dinner. The arrival of Blue Heron Bistro seems to have been eagerly anticipated by many people. We arrived early one Monday afternoon around 4:15pm. When we left around 5:15pm, there were already a good number of people waiting at the door for a table.

Great food, great service. Dine inside or outside on their cool patio. Sailing the San Juan islands, we discovered this new haute with long time local residents and friends. This new hotspot didn't disappoint. Great service, wait staff eager to deliver, food was fresh, delicious and locally sourced. Cozy atmosphere with diverse menu. The beautiful fresh florals on each table were a thoughtful accent of Island life.
