“We were just looking for a quick bite to eat before we boarded the Ferry back to the mainland. We stopped in here and were seated right away. The food was ok but very basic and flat. The view was good but not much effort in the food prep.”

“My wife and I enjoyed breakfast here before touring San Juan Island. This is an iconic building on the Friday Harbor waterfront and delicious food as well! We both had different breakfast burritos; the food was prepared quickly and with fresh ingredients. But the views are amazing, even if you are just enjoying a cup of coffee. Great little place to enjoy some good food, but five stars for the location and views!”

“Roses is my favorite spot on Orcas Island, among very good company of other lovely restaurants. I rue the days they’re closed (Sundays and Mondays) and have been known to plan a trip around their hours. Fresh pastas are often specials on the lunch menu, with homemade, perfectly cooked noodles in plentiful portions. I always get the pasta, in addition to whatever else my friends and I share. Their thin crust pizzas are delightful — flavorful but never heavy, with interesting flavor combos incorporating seasonal ingredients. Always, there’s at least one vegetarian option if you’re into that sort of thing. At breakfast, the potato nest is a must: a giant hashbrown with crispy edges and a creamy center of soft potatoes. It’s served with poached eggs and Serrano ham. Their pies and other sweets are also worth making room for, or taking with you when you go. If you have a Sunday ferry, I recommend snapping up sandwiches to go from the gourmet shop attached when you’re there on Saturday. Enjoy!”

“Super cute cocktail bar! It was a little hard to find from the road, but once we walked through the yard by the other restaurants it was right there. The drinks were delicious, and the cheese plate was massive and incredibly tasty. Definitely stop by here on your way in or out of town!”

“This is a great golf course with 9 holes, light blue tees for a back 9, and can be surprisingly challenging at times. They have a driving range for those looking to hit a few balls before a round, after a round, or even just for a bit of fun. The clubhouse is open during the season and even during the off season there is usually someone close by that can come over and help out. In summation this is a wonderful golf course on a beautiful island. Can't get any better than that.”
