“The St. James Social experience was far beyond a 10 score. The check in is easy, the hotel is exquisitely designed, with impeccable workmanship. I know many folks may not notice the detail but we do and we did notice every little detail of beautiful furnishings with lovely linens and a very very comfortable bed with thick, full and luxurious king size pillows , fabulous flooring, sophisticated colors that please the eye and soothe the soul. The sauna, coffee/tea bar and rooftop lounge area are spectacular features and so appreciated in a hotel stay!!! The rooftop not only provided a beautiful panoramic view of Lake Superior but a fresh, clean and relaxing social space to enjoy. The entry point is securely coded with ample room for entry with luggage. There are a couple other delightful and nostalgic surprises that I did not reveal-enjoy! We are already planning our next stay and look so forward to enjoying the main level lounge as well. Thank you for the great service and attention to detail provided!”

“My husband and i went up to Bayfield this past weekend for our anniversary and had the best time! The staff was so accommodating and our breakfast server, Lance, was the best server either of us had ever had. He was kind, attentive and really made us feel at home at the Rittenhouse inn. The room was spacious, tidy and quiet, perfect for a relaxing getaway. We will definitely be returning!”

“This was our favorite place in Bayfield! It’s right off of the docks/bay for convenience if you’re just stopping in quick. They had sandwiches, a few groceries, drinks, etc. The breakfast panini was so good and made to order. Also much cheaper than anywhere else in town. The employees were really friendly. They’re closed on Wednesdays and open morning to afternoon other days. There are no tables inside, but there’s 3 on the side and 2 in front for outdoor seating. The inside is cute and has Lake Superior charm. It seems like a newer addition to Bayfield, so check it out!”

“First post pandemic visit. My husband is very particular about how his steak is prepared. He said it was one of the best ever. Prepandemic we enjoyed visiting and referred several people. Food is always excellent. Protip-make a reservation for a window table. Best view in Bayfield! Restaurant only operates seasonly and is open Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Bartender, waitstaff, hostess, chef and manager all excellent.”

“First, I will say the food and service were excellent. What I did not like is how hot the plates are when they come out. Someone could get burnt by them. They are crazy hot!! Only other thing I can complain about is the flies. There were 2 flies that would not let us eat in piece. Other than those 2 items everything was great.”

“This was our first time up to Iron River, Wisconsin and Scenic Drive Restort. The grounds were absolutely beautiful; all decked out in their spectacular fall colors, and the cabins were clean and cozy! The owners, Kevin & Jennifer, couldn't have been more accommodating. The lodge is amazing with lake views from every window! There's not a bad seat in the house!! Make sure to stop in on Thursday's for Kevin's famous ribs and on Friday's for the Walleye dinner made with Jennifer's secret recipe! Yum!! “Stopped in late on sleds. We were out in a heavy snowstorm and missed the kitchen closing by a bit. The chef was a super nice guy and although he was busy he made us a pizza. It was homemade and very good! He had ribs and many other things had we made it before the kitchen closed. Will definitely stop again if I’m in the area.”

“We had a late lunch here during the off season and were the only guests. The owners are attentive and friendly👍🥰. We had burgers that were delicious, with lovely bakery quality buns. The Beer Cheese soup was hot and tasty. We learned from the owners that this used to be a coffee shop in the 1950’s😊. They serve breakfast all day. Prices were very reasonable too! We will be back!”

“This place is so beautiful! The staff were so welcoming and the owner is socially involved with all the guests. The room was wonderful and the lake view was spectacular. The ONLY reason for the 3 star rating was the water quality. The table water in the dinning room had a terrible odor and worst taste. The water in the room was the same so we used bottle water to brush our teeth and left a day early to get home for a refreshing shower. Would love to go back if the water quality was better.”

“Very good. Visiting from Colorado and just stayed around here for a couple of days. Stopped in at El Charro and enjoyed the ambiance, big windows with beautiful views, and the food was delicious. Salsa had some good kick. Staff was friendly also and we had no issues. If we were in town for longer we would be back.”
