“This is a nice little shop! They just started offering BBQ with a "Oklahoma, Missouri and Texas" combination. The couple who own it are very nice. The BBQ is very good and I got the pull pork. This is by far one of the best BBQ options in northern Wisconsin. Please support them!!”

“We were there on Friday evening. Two of our group of six had pan-fried walleye and one person had deep-fried walleye. Two people had deep-fried cod that they were pleased with, and one person had a large serving of smothered chicken. The walleye was thick and delicious. The adult beverages were very good. The place was packed and the noise level was high. Service was great even though there was only one wait staff while we were there. A salad bar is available for $3.50 extra.”

“We came here for the restaurant. It's very nice and rustic. The view is amazing. It's off season so very quiet but still had a full menu available. They have a lot of possible varieties of sandwiches that can be ordered as either a hamburger or grilled chicken. We had the pizza which has a nice thin crust and very good. The French dip my friend said was good and the yummy Cuban with lots of filling including home made pulled pork. There was just one server/bartender that did an amazing job of taking care of us.”

“Great place! We stopped in after the Fourth of July parade and they served us and another party even though they weren’t technically open. Great service and management!! They will have full menu eventually and the food looked great. The place has been renovated; a lot of space and had tons of great photos of the concrete park next door (which it is now apart or). They also have an AirBnb above. They said to follow on Facebook for current hours they’re open. Highly recommend checking them out!”

“Stopped in last night with my husband and son to scope the place out. Menu was simple, just the way I like it;) Boys had burgers w/fries, I had chicken sandwich w/fries. Food was great, and so was the Bloody Mary. I recommend checking Timber Roadhouse out for yourself. We will be returning!”

“Saw these guys on our online news and wanted to try them out. We were in the Phillips area on vacation last week and stopped for breakfast. Shared the Getter Upper bowl and it was THE BEST! “My husband and I love Red Beard Bistro! The food is great and good quality with a lot of variety and custom options. We enjoy trying the burger specials and have really enjoyed the homemade soups. There are a lot of appetizers for everyone’s taste. During this pandemic, we usually get food to go, which isn’t too long of a wait, but the seating offers a nice atmosphere. She has great ice cream, which we usually take to go or eat for a treat while we wait. The owner is very nice and we’ve always had excellent service. You won’t regret stopping in at Red Beard for a nice meal or sweet treat!”

“Convenient and cozy place to stop for sandwiches, salads, or soups on the way into the Northwoods. The bathrooms are clean, well-stocked and welcoming, not a small consideration on a road trip. I had a chicken salad croissant sandwich and was pleasantly surprised by the flaky and buttery pastry that even a Parisian would recognize as a proper croissant. The chicken salad was moist and flavorful, if a bit plain. My companions are unable to eat gluten and found only one item on the menu: vegetable soup. They had no complaints about the soup, but it wasn't enough of a meal.”
