“Really enjoyed Ranahan Steakhouse! First of all, it’s located in a BEAUTIFUL new, sparkling clean building. Great country music playing the whole time, highlighted by Riley Green, Jamey Johnson, and Jon Pardi. Small beer selection, but there’s still something for everyone, craft and domestic enthusiasts alike. I started with the French onion soup (picture below). It was great, and served in the coolest manner I’ve ever seen. Then, had the 12 oz prime rib (picture below). Thought the presentation was fantastic. It was done perfectly, super tender, and tasty. The seasoning wasn’t necessarily my absolute favorite, but still very good. The salad and bread bar was one of the nicest I’ve ever seen. The service was absolutely fantastic! Prices are commensurate with the quality of the experience and food provided, especially considering our current inflationary pricing environment. Will absolutely be back if I’m through Douglas again and would recommend to anyone.”

“Nice little restaurant in the Town of Douglas WY. Staff were wonderful Brianna our waitress was great. The food was pretty decent, I had the Lula burger, it was yummy, and the battered fries were crisp and tasty. My fiancée had the spaghetti with meat sauce that was also decent. It was a fun little stop off and the prices were reasonable.”

“I stopped by Plains Trading Post Restaurant twice over a month time period. I tend to travel through Douglas on road trips through Wyoming. I've marked this as a place to stop by for me and my family. The first stop was for breakfast. I had a great omelet, with decent proportion and not long wait time for the food. The second visit was with a different group for lunch. The rest of my party had a simple side or sandwich. I thought my double cheese burger was fine with plenty of fries. They offer condiments you want (opposed to charging extra or not asking). The history and decor of the restaurant is interesting. Read their history on the menu. This establishment is made up of a few historical buildings, including the attached motel. There is smoking in this restaurant which bothered me some, even though smoking is only in the bar (entrance) I think. Next to the restaurant is a ice cream parlor. There are only a few seats, but there are treats. Nice break, again, for a road trip. Service was friendly and quick, but casual (no rush). I definitely will stop by more often when driving through Wyoming.”

“1st time trying this place & it was solid!! I got the sesame chicken & substituted my steamed rice for fried rice as my side. Little on the spicy side but not overwhelming & the fried rice was great as well. Based on previous reviews, I also tried their egg rolls with a side of sweet & sour sauce (cuz I live dangerously); HIGHLY recommend it. Finally, if you're planning to pickup, I'd suggest calling ahead; it's a bit of a wait but worth it in the end. Friendly people. 5 stars!”

“Easy on and off . Nice big lot to park in. Restaurant was affordable and delicious. Everything is clean which says a lot considering what most truck stops look like these days 10/10 would recommend!”

“Service was slow. Order got mixed up. Manager did give us free food for mix up. That was a great thing for him to do. Waitress took order and then we didn't see her again”

“Enchilada dinner was good. Cheese dip with beans in it was really good also. The green chili stew had a good flavor and I like hot food but it was way too hot to eat. Truck parking for about 15 to 20 trucks you cannot park on the concrete. When you’re looking at the restaurant park either on the left side of it or directly in front of it in the small dirt patch. They told me they will be closing by the first of the year if they cannot get anybody to work. They said nobody wants to work.”

“A great place to visit, camp and take your boat. World class views especially at dawn or dusk and being Wyoming, a trillion stars at night. Clean toilets, free hot showers. Oh did I mention the fishing... Yesterday I found the fire pits already stocked with cut wood. Alcova is just a great place for a day trip or extended stay. $12.00 per night.”

“This place is a gemstone in a pretty quiet town with not many options. Great breakfast that is very reasonably priced. Lots of other grocery available also. Stay away from HOWARD'S and try Bullfrog first!! Also the owner is super wonderful!!”

“A great place to stop in a small town. Food was great… Green Chili Hamburger with fries… The atmosphere was open, clean and friendly. The waitress was busy with the many customers. Slow but that was okay and expected. She was helpful with a kind smile. The sit helped me unwind from a day of driving. Thanks”

“Probably the best prime rib i have ever had. Southwest corn was good, an interesting preparation I'd never seen before. Served with mashed potatoes. Really good bartender. We were in a large group, more than 100 people, the only real downside was that the service was slow, but that is because of our large party. Cesar salad was also delicious. Both indoor and outdoor seating, gorgeous scenery, horseshoes out back. Lots of cool historical quirky details about the place. It was great.”

“UPDATE: I greatly appreciate the quick response from the owners and their vested interest in making things right. They refunded the full cost of the meal and expressed great concern about getting a negative review. They requested o remove my review, however i think it's fair to let it remain. I change my rating from one star to three given their willingness to refund the cost. *Ribeye was room temp, baked potato was undercooked and couldn't mash with my fork. *hamburger steak was bland, potato want mashed, rather half smashed and extremely hard. The whole plate was covered in a thick, presumably canned, gravy. Told the waitress, and rather than offering to make the meal right, she offered to placate us with a slice of pie, and later a brownie. It cost $30 for one bite of room temperature steak and three bites of hamburger steak drowning in sludge. The waitress said she discounted the meal, but it seems that discount was about 10%. The chef seemed uninterested in our complaint and the waitress appeared unsure what to say. Had I not been with my mom, i would have made a bigger deal. There is no reason anyone should be charged for those meals. I'm not sure how this place got 4.9 stars (from 75 total reviews) but I highly suggest you keep driving.”

“Charming decor in a small town. Was disappointed to learn breakfast wasn't served all day, I think the website says it is. They were out of most of what our party wanted to order but it was towards the end of the day so maybe that's why. Fast service. Good food.”

“The staff is the BEST at the bar! Specifically Shea and Colt, their personalities are so easy to get along with! They are the most amazing time, they’re attentive and they always know exactly what you want before you do. Not to mention, they make super tasty drinks! If you’re getting food, the tots and the hot hamburger are the way to go :)”

“The cafe (mom n pops) place was great the food was amazing the owners take pride in what they do and are very knowledgeable about the area. I loved visiting with them and learning about the area. They have photos of stars and locals on the walls and they would be more then happy to tell you about them. A great place to stop and eat and try the raspberry tea it hits the spot if your thirsty! Even if your not hungry just stop by to visit and get to know the area. I will be back for sure!”

“Awesome place! A great bar that's been recently acquired by new owners. The owners and staff are very friendly and provide service above and beyond the "normal" bars. Delicious food, fast drinks and great local clientele! The patio area is great, pool table and darts can be a great way to wind down! Stop here for a cold one and experience hospitality the way it should be!”

“Domino's is my weekend Delivery Treat. I've tried lots from the menu, but I always return to two favorites - the meaty, saucy pasta in a delicious soft bread bowl AND the specialty chicken - juicy bites of chicken covered in bacon, tomato and cheese. It's the best! Anyway, for a tasty break from Brussels sprouts, carrots etc.; it's Domino's every time! And at checkout, I have a chance to donate my change to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital which is in my hometown! Bonus!”
