“The staff here are awesome and friendly! They're always trying their best and accommodating the customer. Unfortunately though, at this McDonald's in the Walmart on Upper James and Fennell, no matter what time of day I seem to come, the pop here is always flat or out of syrup. Management doesn't seem to keep up with changing the pop machine syrup, so unless you're getting a less popular choice of pop you can expect it to to be a bit off. On the other hand I noticed at this location they don't give customers their cup to fill up while they wait for their food, or any other beverages you may have ordered until all of your order is being handed out. I think it would help if they gave people their drinks first, however I can understand that maybe they don't because then people might be distracted from hearing their order number being called.”

“went there probably at their peak hours and everyone seems to be enjoying themselves and their accompany (and the food and coffee) there. space is well-lit by natural lighting which is probably what makes this place cozy and warming (and full of joy). ordered waffles with friend for takeout and then seating became available! the waffles are fluffy and perfect and the people are very welcoming and friendly. overall it’s a great spot for coffee/tea stop and get the waffle fix!”

“Our first morning in Hamilton, we had to find our way around this town, which to us, was not the most charming city ever. But then we were pointed at Democracy to have a coffee, so we went there and it was great. Super nice staff, very good coffee, perfect pies/ cakes, lots of vegan options also. Also nice to go to with kids, they have some toys and they can put chalk on the wall. Very nice place!”

“Prons: - I have visited this place for more than 10 times and can stay there almost from 2pm to 6pm as I have always ordered something with me. - My order has always been correct regardless which method I take to order (through the mobile app, the kiosk, or at the counter). - The waiting time for my order is acceptable which ranges from 10 - 30min approximately for orders of 1 coffee up to 5 burgers with 2 drinks and 1 salads. Cons: - The staff does not usually clean the table or the sits from what I have observed. - Sometimes, the lights on the 2nd floor switch off without any particular reasons or warnings from the staff during afternoon. I feel somehow uncomfortable with the darkness. - Rarely, I need to ask the staff to refill the tissues in the washrooms. - During the summer, I feel personally that the ac is really cold.”

“Would highly recommend this fine Tea House. The staff and owner were extremely friendly and caring with all members of our party of 25. Our every need was taken care of, and the food was well presented and delicious. Planning for this event was a joy, as e-mails were answered in a timely manner and everything was detailed in a clear and concise form. Numerous members of our party were aged and one in a wheelchair, and the staff went out of their way to give them special attention. The younger child was pampered and given special treats while we waited for everyone to arrive. Overall a great experience. We will be back. Thank you to ownership and all staff for a remarkable day.
