Florence Killen Rogersville

Señor Tequila

Address: 105 N Court St, Florence, AL 35630, USA

Restaurant

“Went to eat during their first opening night! The atmosphere was very different than anything in Florence, especially for "Mexican" food. Once exploring their menu a bit more you see that it's carefully crafted and unique to anything we've seen! I went for dinner and had the Salmon and it was paired with coconut rice & I can for sure say that I'll be back!”

Outlaw Sushi

Address: 123 Magnolia St, Florence, AL 35630, USA

Restaurant

“Pretty good. Would like to try more options to give more detail. Sushi was fresh but didn’t have a lot of flavor to me. I got the suicide and my friend got the Bruin. Service was really good. Prices are steep but that seems typical with a “trendy sushi place” in the Grove, whatever that is.. might come back to try the Pho and give it another shot. Parking is a bit limited.”

Bongos Bar & Mexican Grill

Address: 1420 Huntsville Rd, Florence, AL 35630, USA

Restaurant

“Noticed this place opened up recently and being an afficionado of Mexican food, I decided to check it out. I was greeted politely when I entered. The menu has a large variety of food, and the music is great. There's also a nice selection of drinks and they have the capability to make anything else you request. I ordered an appetizer for my colleague and me of a large cheese sticks. It was pretty hefty... $10 for 9 mozzarella sticks that seemed to have been microwaved with a side of ranch. We waited about 15-20 minutes for the mozzarella sticks. I would have liked a side of marinara rather than ranch. I also ordered an al pastor street taco plate for approximately $12 to go. When I opened the box, each taco was individually wrapped, but a lot of the meat + garnish had spilled. It didn't help that there weren't any napkins provided, and I received silverware (for tacos). The combination of red and green chili sauce with the al pastor was quite tasty. The meal had a side of salsa plus chips. I wanted to like this place so if I give it another try, I'd like to come back for the drinks.”

El Polito Loco express

Address: 3801 Chisholm Rd, Florence, AL 35630, USA

Restaurant

“I was really impressed with this restaurant. The street tacos were amazing and the fajita nachos were awesome. I will be going here again”

Cypress Row

Address: 116 S Pine St, Florence, AL 35630, USA

Restaurant

“I'm not one to write reviews, like ever. However, this restaurant is like home- friendly folks, comforting food, and inviting atmosphere. I've been to several restaurants, and Cypress Row is a community staple to keep coming back to. The food is made with quality care and thoughtfulness (I tasted the Cypress sauce - and yum). Our server was attentive, kind, and knowledgeable. The building itself is very appealing with the exposed brick, comfy booths, and clean bathrooms. Y'all, I would highly recommend this be your go to work lunch, family dinner, or weekend brunch spot. Go check it out for yourself, and don't forget to order some fried green tomatoes, fire cracker shrimp, or banana pudding.”

Staggs Grocery

Address: 1424 Huntsville Rd, Florence, AL 35630, USA

Restaurant

“Best burger in the city! I only get there once a year and it is a planned event. Never miss it.”

For the Record Music Hall & Bar

Address: 1401 Huntsville Rd, Florence, AL 35630, USA

Restaurant

“Great live music, very cool space with three adjoining rooms- to the left of the entrance is the main stage room for larger weekend shows; the center room is where the bar is located; to the right of the entrance is what I would call the chill out/games room (and this is where the restrooms are located too). Great staff, pro-gear, various events each night of the week, including an open mic night (Tuesdays). They also have N/A beverage options for folks who are abstaining from alcohol. Support independent music and business!”

Milla's Place

Address: 111 E Limestone St, Florence, AL 35630, USA

Restaurant

“I went today, for the first time , to pick up a plate to go. I did not call ahead. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and my order was taken shortly after. I received my order within a few minutes and was back on my way. The food is fantastic and I will definitely be back. I ordered the pork chop with squash, okra and mashed potatoes. The pork chop is moist and well seasoned. Everything is tasty.”

Fat Boyz Deli

Address: 604 S Court St, Florence, AL 35630, USA

Restaurant

“Ok, The Good: I love the experience from the staff (who I guess one was the owner) and the friendly service. Being a small business, they are really friendly. They had an amazing selection of sandwiches and sides. The bread was fresh, and their other ingredients were fresh and great. The potato salad was a different take as it was a chunky style, which I like, and the ingredients were mixed well and not with too much mayo and very good. They look like they have a great breakfast to try that they serve all day. I like to go to places and check them out to gauge the vibe before I bring dates or friends, and I like the place. They have a good art collection starting and a feel like it's a regular hangout place. The Bad: It was my first time, I obviously stuck out because the guy made me out and asked if it was my first time. I told him it was and thanked him, got my food, and left. As you can see, I didn't experience what others did in their photos that I looked at online before I went. I couldn't believe that there wasn't any meat to speak of on the one side. I had to end up redistributing some of the meat from the other side. And as you can see, there wasn't much to work with there. I am for creativity on sandwiches and I read that there was a coleslaw on the Reuben instead of the traditional sourkraut, but I thought it would've been a better coleslaw than just a regular coleslaw and it missed its mark. A Reuben isn't a Reuben without it, and it didn't have any thousand island sauce, so I'd think about renaming to a creative version of it or something, but I was expecting a Reuben. On the potato salad, the potatoes were just barely done for me and could've been cooked a little longer. It felt more raw potato than a traditional mushy style, but this is pure opinion. I feel you could offer larger drinks if you're only offering bottles and not fountain drinks. Very fresh though because it was being made right there but having said that, it looked like he was teaching a worker how to make it and I felt knowing it was my first time, teaching someone the proper way, this sandwich could have been made better at least. There is talk of price, but as I said, I support small businesses. This meal was $16, and I like to see them get theirs, but I'm hoping I can get my money's worth in the future. It's on me trying the recipe, but maybe the next one will be better. Everyone has a bad go, and I'll try again because I believe in supporting our community and small businesses. Thank you for being great people, and I'm glad to have another sandwich place to go to.”

Cafe Restaurant

“Now usually i go to ' Big Bad Breakfast 'for breakfast but there was waiting this time so we decided to look up other breakfast places and decided to give this place a shot and I would definitely be coming back here . This Coffee / Breakfast place is cute . Their omelettes are amazing , i ordered the black beans and avocado omelette it was so good . Nice atmosphere and great coffee . Their muffins are nice too . You should definitely check this place out . One of the nicest breakfast places in Florence . The only thing i don't like about them is they don't have fresh squeezed orange juice I mean it would be nice for a breakfast place to have fresh squeezed orange juice rather than the bottled one . All in all great place to hang out in mornings , good friendly staff and good environment .”

Voodoo Wing Company Florence

Address: 310 Cypress Mill Rd, Florence, AL 35630, USA

Restaurant

“I thoroughly enjoyed Voodoo Wings! I ordered Hot Honey flavored wings and asked for them to be crispy. The wings weren't too big...but not too small..they were the perfect size. The flavor was delicious! My husband's Hot Wings were really good, too! The fries are like sprialized potato wedges cooked to a golden crisp. I tried some of the fried okra and it was great also! Even the celery and carrots were crisp and fresh! You order at the bar and seat yourself. The bar serves alcohol and there's several TVs throughout the restaurant. Great place to watch sports. I would really like to see a side salad on the menu, but I'll be back nonetheless. Happy to know they have a kids menu consisting of boneless chicken wings. They even have outside seating and corn hole games in the outside area. I look forward to trying the other flavors and maybe some fried pickles. Definitely recommended!”

Taste of Maine

Address: 1621 Lee St, Rogersville, AL 35652, USA

Restaurant

“This is going to be a long one, but I promise it's worth it. First, let me tell you, Al is the man. He has the most amazing personality and is so friendly, you want to hang out with him all night. Seriously, such a nice guy! Second, despite living in the south most of my life, I spent 6 years living in New England to be closer to my husband's family. We moved to Alabama last August, and one of the biggest things we missed was the fresh seafood, specifically lobster. We finally got to try them out tonight at the Food Truck rally in Huntsville. There is no reason that food this good could be coming off of a food truck except for the pure magic that is happening inside. Despite being 1,200 miles away from New England, you never would have known it based on how amazing the lobster was. It was incredibly fresh, huge pieces of lobster. Honestly, there's some restaurants IN New England that don't do lobster as amazing as Taste of Maine did. Additionally, I have very severe food allergies and not only was I able to find an item to order (only allergy sufferers will truly understand the significance of that) but I also felt completely comfortable eating here. My husband (the native New Englander) and I will both most definitely be back as I'm already craving another serving.”
