“Coffee, bakeries and service were great. They prepared a sitting area for our large group, everything came quickly. The breakfast options are limited and pricey however everything is prepped and done on site with finest ingredients. The heritage bread was amazing and pastries are not too sweet. Parking is limited but complimentary vallet parking is available”

“Celebrating a co-worker's birthday, we stopped at French's Bakery in Costa Mesa to pick up a cake for a surprise birthday party. The staff took care of me, making sure the cake was ready to go and I was in and out in less than 5 minutes. They have a wide selection to choose from and if you have enough time, you can have custom cakes made. Great prices. Definitely will use again.”

“Black Market always has yummy breads and treats. The tomato and cheese croissant was good and the chocolate chip cookie was very tasty and not over baked. Their sandwiches all look good however it appears the hot mess we ordered was poorly made. The bread seemed too squished almost like somebody left it under the press for too long. Bread was crumbling apart. Still had a good taste.”

“Dropped in for lunch and ordered the chicken wrap and the salmon wrap. Delicious as usual with a side of caesar's salad. We usual eat here when shopping at South Coast Plaza and I have noticed the last few times that the salad dressing has lacked taste. They need to get back to the old recipe. They have a great bakery for your sweet tooth cravings.”

“First rate bakery. Had a problem which they fixed immediately and their pies are a taste of home!! Follow up: Pie-Not is a class act. They contacted me about my experience, made the effort to fix my concern and invited me back to try their pies again. Great job!! Excellent pies and I'm hooked for life!!”

“Best bagel shop around the Costa Mesa/Newport area. I highly recommend the California, Santa Fe and ABC breakfast bagel sandwiches. Everything bagel is favorite here for sandwiches, but all their bagels are excellent and made in-house.”

“This place was very good!! The inside was spacious and clean. The portions were large and reasonably priced. We went on a Saturday night and it wasn’t too busy that we had to wait on a table. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our food came out in a timely manner and was delicious.”

“My husband and I were recently staying overnight in the city, and I could not wait to grab a sandwich and treat from Specialty's while we were in the area. Sadly, the excitement was quickly (and perhaps permanently) derailed. Though the downtown space is now much larger (and tastefully decorated), the staff were not as friendly or helpful as our previous trips, and the quality of the food has definitely suffered in whatever transition has taken place within the company. I was disappointed with the experience and will probably have to find a new favorite treat place in the city for our next visit.”

“I absolutely love the sourdough bread from here! I live sourdough in general but this place sets the gold standard for sourdough! I live all the way in Riverside and every time I'm in Orange County I make it a point to stop and get some to go. I always get the light baked oval. I take it home, toast it and then spread some Kerrygold Irish butter on it and let it melt.....OMG! I'll also use it to make Avocado toast for breakfast. BEST BREAKFAST EVER!”

“Wonder why this place doesn't have 5 stars. Just the bread alone is 5 stars! I've had the Butternut Squash and the Tomato Soup on Bread Bowl (not pictured, I had it on a diff day) and both were so good and so filling. I've also had the Grilled Brie with Apple and Fig Jam and the Tuna Sandwich. Delicious. Can't wait to be back and try the other grilled sandwiches. I also want to mention, the service is great. The staff walking by checked on us maybe twice to see if we needed anything else.”

“Normally eating at Panera bread I'm quite pleased however this time in Costa Mesa was the exception to the rule.ordered a bowl of soup yes we got a bowl deliver to the table but it was only half-filled if even that when complain to the hostess and waitress about the low quantity she says well that's the way it is.... Well let it be knowing that the way it is is we will not return to this location”

“Bagels are great, toasted is the way to go. They have over 10 different selections of cream cheese and they are generous with the amount. If its too much you can just take some off. The combination of the warm toasted bagel and cream cheese is great.”
