“This was a very good experience just few days ago. Very nicely lit and interestingly positioned place. They have nice area of many tables under red umbrellas outside and plenty of tables inside. Our group of friends took the inside table. The walls are actually glass so siting inside one still can observe the street and it is nice. We all ordered various items on the menu - Tuna Melt sandwich, chicken crispy tenders, garlic fries and pastrami Reuben, and pulled BBQ beef. Portions are very good size. We couldn’t finish them all and the dinner leftovers become the lunch next day. I like their fries very much - they are adequate thickness, so you can later on cook them either on stovetops or in Air Frier - and they keep the moisture and the taste. I like the attention we got from all the servants, always with a smile and they were proactive about all that we might need. The presentation of the meals on the plates is also very good. I used to go to Refuge in San Carlos (it’s very good as well) and I’m glad we found this new one in Hillsdale mall - definitely recommend you to visit and enjoy it!”

“Went in there to grab a quick lunch and found a cooked tenderloin for only 2.83 and it tasted fabulous. I thought maybe it was missed priced it was marked down for quick sale so they don't get wasted. Enjoyed every bite. Cashier was friendly and fast , bathroom was hard to find but ladies room was clean not as clean as it should be but it passed the smell test. the paper towel holder was left open or didn't work so it needs looked at the store it self had a funny smell but couldn't figure out what it was but other than that I would definitely shop there again.”

“I would like to give a HUGE SHOUTOUT to Ernesto who works at the meat counter at Lucky’s Alameda. A few days before Christmas, I came in to Lucky’s to order my prime rib for my Christmas dinner like I have been for the past 10 years. I didn’t recognize the employee at the meat counter, but I still continued to place my order with him. He handed me a notebook to put in all my info and the size of my prime rib. The employee checked it and said ok, your order will be ready to be picked up as you indicated here. I was happy and went on my way. Longer story short, Ernesto, out of the kindness of his heart and the greatest meat counter employee Lucky’s will ever have kept trying to contact me to tell me that they didn’t have any more prime ribs and was not getting anymore in and the other guy should have told me this. Anyway, Ernesto, being the gentleman that he is and passionate about his awesome customer service, got me my prime rib from another Lucky’s on his way into work that Saturday morning. He called me to tell me he had it and when I was ready to come pick it up. Ernesto saved my Christmas dinner for my entire family! Lucky’s Alameda is LUCKY to have Ernesto at their meat counter! I will always go to Ernesto at Lucky’s Alameda for all my meat needs! Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Ernesto! Robyn, an extremely pleased customer!”

Granted, I ordered this at 7:45 at night But Hey, don't send me over cooked chicken. It took me a while to figure out whether or not the garlic mashed potatoes were fresh or pre mixed. Pretty sure they were pre mixed. With lots of garlic in it. In the end the taste was good. The baked beans were over the top wonderful and that's where the 4 stars came from.oh and the bread was AWESOME!!!! “The Lucky Supermarket- located in the Edgewater Shopping Center has a great selection of wines. Actually more wine inventory than the Safeway at Woodlake in San Mateo. The cake and bakery section is very small but I can observe large ovens for baking. The Lucky store bakery offers 3 Mexican Bolillo(Pan Francés) French Bread for $1.00. The produce section is very small but very clean and organized. If you are the neighborhood for a walk along the canal, I recommend a visit to the Supermarket.”
